Log cabin cafe is located in kings beach, right off hwy 28. The minute i walked in i got the feeling i was walking into someones house. I wasn't that far off, the house,a log cabin was built in the 1930's. The family that has run this restaurant converted the house to a restaurant and it has been op e n for 35 years. My wife and I stopped in for breakfast on our way to south lake. There was a mix of locals and tourists, when we arrived at 9am it was crowded but there were one or two tables available. One note before i get to the food, construction is literally right outside there front door,so be aware that you have to turn quick into there lot. I ordered the Chester and my wife ordered the french toast. The chester came with 2 eggs any style, bacon, fresh lemon poppy seed muffin and spuds, which i traded for a cup of fresh fruit. My wifes french toast was made with cinnamon raisin bread. It was extremely tasty, not to sugary or gooey. The syrup was served in a vinegar type bottle, a different way to serve it, but nice touch. The water w s s also served in a glass carafe which added a nice touch. Service was spot on,did not have to wait for coffee refills. The only inconvenience we had w a s using the bathrooms. They are upstairs and we are both disabled. They let us use the employee bathroom behind the kitchen, but getting back there was kind of awkward. Overall it was a good experience and we will be back

A must when you visit North Shore. Very charming place to have breakfast or lunch. The food is excellent. Ice cream shop is on the back patio. The patio is adorable. Cute waiting room upstairs too. Call ahead cuz theres always a wait!! They serve Pepsi and puppy friendly!

The never-ending wait for North Lake Tahoe's best breakfast spot says it all. The actual log cabin feel of the dining room along with the friendly, attentive and expedient service compliment the delicious food for a true Tahoe dining experience. Try the house-smoked salmon scramble or one of their many varieties of Tahoe's best benedicts.

I'd like to start off by saying that Lauren (I believe that's what our servers name was) was great. And the food was delicious and large portions! Lauren, and I think another girl, looked like the only people on the floor, hostessing, bussing and serving and so I was a little worried she'd forget some of the little things like coffee refills, lemon for my tea etc. I decided early on that I would forgive those things, cause she was clearly working really hard. However she was very friendly, gave good service and didn't forget a thing. I saw her on top of drink refills, to go boxes, bringing checks, seating people, resetting her tables and all that fun stuff us servers get to do. All in all it was a lovely breakfast experience, a friend of my moms who used to live up here suggested it and I see why! Will definitely return the next time I'm up in north lake. Also great menu selection :) (I had the chicken fried steak, it was amazing and the potatoes were great, the croissant warm and buttery)

This is my fourth visit here. Every time I come here I get something new. I haven't been disappointed yet. This place has the three marks of an excellent cafe: great service, great atmosphere, and great food. Get the eggs Benedict, you will never be the same.

We have been coming here for years because the food is really good. But I am sorry to say not even good food will get my business when I see people waiting long time for seating because they don't employ enough people. This was a Saturday in Sept and signs around town said event happening, so why no help. There are tons of people out of work, no excuse. This just points to the bottom line being more important than service. I saw hostess busing, and waitress and waiter busing to get next group in. We had a supposed 25 minute wait that turned in to 40 min. We saw tables needing busing and no help. Next, we waited more than 15 minutes for food. Service should be exemplary with the price they ask for.

There were only 4 tables but service was seriously lacking at 8:30 in the AM. I tried the lobster egg benedict and the SO had the crab cake benedict. The lobster EB is a rip off, at 15 dollars, I got the fake crab/lobster that you got at the grocery store. MEH. no thanks. the crab cake EB is better, same price. TIP: coffee brewed is 3 dollars, might as well have an espresso at 4 dollars.

Amazing food for Cali. Had the veggie Benedict - it was so perfect! My friend had the huevos and loved it.

Came here on Friday morning, it was pretty busy. We had to get on a wait-list, the wait time was about 20 minutes. We sat upstairs for a little bit, waiting room was comfy. When they sat us at the table, my husband ordered lobster scramble with potatoes, croissant and coffee w/ Baileys liqueur. I got breakfast burrito w/ potatoes and regular coffee. Service was good. Food was amazing! Husband thought his coffee had too much liquer, had them re-do it but still didn't like it. Other than that we loved everything.

They have an amazing breakfast! The decor is just darling! And there is an ice cream store right behind it!!! Jack pot! They only downside of Thai restaurant is that they very blatantly serve locals first! I've seen is on multiple occasions! :( if you arnt local, be prepared to wait at least 45 minutes! Even if you see a bunch of open tables.

Great breakfast and service. Our waitress was on it with our order and coffee refills. I ordered biscuits and gravy with eggs over-medium. Eggs were cooked perfectly. The gravy on the biscuits was light and well seasoned. My husband ordered the Greek scramble. He was happy to see that there was quite a lot of stuff (feta, olives, etc) with just enough eggs to bind it all together. The home fries were nice as well. Another plus, they have Pepper Plant as one of their hot sauce options. We highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast.

The best breakfast in North Shore Lake Tahoe, great service and lovely atmosphere. We always make it a point to grab a bite!!!! Check out the quilt squares and handmade pot holders!

This place gets busy and I appreciate the fact that they told us to call ahead of time to put our name on the list. So when we got there we didn't have long to wait. The food came very quickly and it looked good though I did have to add salt to my eggs benny and potatoes. Bf had lox and bagel, hard to screw up though the bagel was not really toasted - more warmed. Ambience is cutesy country, they had a "waiting room" upstairs which was very bizarre - looked like someone's living room in the 70's... Oh, one thing we could've done without was the latina Gordon Ramsey in the kitchen yelling at the top of voice in spanish - was she yelling out orders? Can she not yell? Especially when her voice sound like a cat being tortured? And please if you need to address your wait staff, can you ask the person to step into the kitchen versus yell out across the kitchen into the dining room? Kinda hard on the ears especially at 9 o'clock in the morning.

Of the 4 of us, I was the only one who enjoyed their breakfast. The eggs benedict was good - the hollandaise is lemony and homemade. The "scramble-ins" weren't that good. But my big beef is that the place is dirty. The upstairs "waiting room" has filthy carpets, dirty baseboards, etc. The bathroom is dirty. They need to shut down for a few days and give it a thorough cleaning. Don't know how they pass health code. We won't be going back.

This place is great! We sat in the cute outdoor patio seating area both times we ate here over the 4th of July weekend and loved it. Great espresso drinks, large portions, delicious homemade muffins (the carrot one is to die for) and excellent hollandaise sauce (for which they are well-known). I highly recommend this place if you're hungry, want pleasant service and great food. There is a large seating area inside as well. My only complaint was the fact that there is only one unisex restroom upstairs for which there was a wait both times I visited.

Stopped here on the way back home. The wait was around 25 minutes for a Sunday morning around 11am. They have a nice waiting area upstairs that resembles someone's living room but it can get crowded pretty quick. We were a party of 8 and seated as close to the front door as possible and I was FREEZING the entire time. If we hadn't been so hungry then I probably would have asked for a different table. Service was just OK during the time that we were there. They were busy and the wait staff seemed pretty stretched. The menu had a great array of different breakfast and lunch choices. A lot of egg dishes, the staples of pancakes and waffles, sandwiches, and a nice drink menu with specialty hot chocolates. I ordered one of their scrambles: avocado, tomato and cheese. It came with breakfast potatoes and a freshly baked blueberry muffin. The scramble was perfection, 5 stars easy. Most places that serve any kind of avocado skimp like hell, but not Log Cabin Café! My scramble had more avocado than egg! The tomato and cheese was a great pairing. The potatoes were 2 or 3 stars, nothing memorable. The blueberry muffin was 5 stars. I am so glad I opted for the fresh baked good instead of toast. The berries were so incredibly fresh, and the muffin itself was so good, I would have taken a dozen home if they had sold them like that. My meal came to $12.25. The portions were really big and I had to take some for the ride home. Overall, I would visit Log Cabin Café again.

This is the best breakfast place on the north shore of Lake Tahoe. They have great and unique items (not easy with a breakfast menu) and the service is excellent. If you go on a Sunday or Monday, ask to be seated in Erin S's section (she is great). The restaurant is extremely popular. Be prepared to wait for a table if you show up after 9am on a weekend.

Tip: call ahead to put your name on the list! It saves you tons of time and you'll be walking straight trough he big crowd in front of the cafe. Came twice for lunch, here are what we got: Lox Bagel Plate: everything you need for a lox bagel plus more veggies Creole Shrimp Benedict, ask for hollandaise on the side not directly on it, otherwise too much sauce. The flavor is great with a little kick. You can choose between croissant and english muffin, I'd try croissant next time. Salmon Salad, with a huge scoop of shredded smoked salmon fillet, not lox. It was super filling and I loved the dressing. Blueberry Pancakes: love the crispy edges! Love the waiting room upstairs, very comfy.

Come early because the wait is usually long but worth the wait. Also, the plates are healthy and very heartily too.

This is the most happening brunch place in King's Beach. Thank goodness we called ahead for our party of eight because there were lots of parties waiting for a table on this Sunday afternoon. We checked in with the hostess and were told that our table would be ready in about 15 minutes, which it totally was. We got seated and perused the menu. I instantly knew that I wanted their smoked salmon scramble - it comes with potatoes and a piece of bread (toast, croissant, or muffin). Their menu also had waffles, french toast, eggs benedict, and all kinds of other breakfasty food - a very good variety. One of my friends ordered a lemon poppyseed waffle - I've never seen that on a menu before. It was quite lemony and very good. The eggs were cooked well and the potatoes were delicious. The service was great - the servers were really friendly despite it being so busy at the restaurant. I thought it was really cute that the tables were decorated with drawings made by kids. The restroom is upstairs and that's where the waiting area is with couches and stuff. This place looks like it used to be someone's old cabin - it's a really perfect place to have brunch in Tahoe!

What a cute breakfast spot out in Tahoe...I saw the 4 star review and knew I had to try this place. It kinda small but don't let that fool you! If you show up and have to wait, you can walk upstairs and they have a waiting room up there with couches, chairs, a TV with a VCR, and it looks like someone's living room. It might be for all I know. Now for the food...I ordered the waffle with the hot apples with whip cream around the outside of the waffle. The waffle was probably one of the best ones I've ever eaten but it was kinda pricey. $12.95 just for the waffle...but it was still really, really, really good! If you are in North Tahoe I highly recommend coming to this place and there is a wait...WAIT! You will not be disappointed!

We love Log Cabin Ice Cream! Alex was so sweet, hard working, and helpful. We suggest Log Cabin Ice Cream if you are in Tahoe!!! Great flavores, good location and GREAT ICE CREAM.

Wow. I have never been treated so poorly in a restaurant. Ever. We came in Thursday June 18 and had great service and loved it so much that we returned the next day. However on Friday June 19 Aleida was working. We were the only people in there and she treated us like the biggest inconvenience, forgot our drinks, the food came out before we got a drink and then sat back and talked crap about us loud enough for us to hear. When I told her I could hear her, her response was "okay" and then went back to talking crap. I cannot believe we spent $40 on this breakfast and left feeling so disappointed because we used to frequent this spot every time we were in Kings Beach but after this experience will never return. Management please correct this problem because the food is awesome.

We called ahead and shortened our wait time. I had the tofu veggie scramble. The tofu was seasoned with tamari and was excellent. My husband loved the chorizo scramble and the ice tea. The hype is real.

Waited for over an hour to be seated all the while people behind us were being seated first. Food was mediocre at best, soda was flat zero carbonation. Sadly, the quality of food did not coincide with the high prices, potatoes tasted a day old..Was very disappointed as the Rachel Ray show promoted it.

Self proclaimed as the best place to get breakfast in Lake Tahoe, this cute little place does a pretty good job in delivering on the promise. They specialize in eggs Benedict and not just your run of the mil type. My dining companion had the Cajun eggs Benedict and this thing looked amazing all served on a croissant instead of a muffin and decadently wonderful. I had an omelette with a side of potatoes and crisp bacon that was also good. And I loved that they even have a liquor license so I got to wash the whole thing down with a pretty good bloody Mary! The decor is not fancy, the one stall bathroom always has a line, but the food makes up for any thing that you may not like. And the prices aren't bad for this town as well. Call when you are on your way for while they don't take reservations, they will put you on the wait list. For us- it worked out perfectly as we were next up by the time we arrived. Easy to find if you are just visiting . . . just look for the line out front waiting to get in to sample some of the best Lake Tahoe has to offer!

Definitely a great place for breakfast when you're hanging out at North Shore! We went in on a Sunday morning for breakfast and were seated immediately. The service was great and the food was even better! The veggie eggs benedict (on a croissant) was fantastic and word on the street is that their cajun shrimp eggs benedict is famously fantastic (of Bon Appetit fame even)! It definitely typifies the perfect laid-back, Tahoe-esque vibe with hearty food to match. Admittedly, I don't think there's a ton of competition for great breakfast places on North Shore, but this is definitely a great go-to to start your day off right!

We met up with a big group of family the morning after my brother's wedding and it was a great experience all around! They also put up with our discombobulated group of people coming and going, ordering at different times and such with a smile and helpful attitude. The food was really yummy and there was plenty to choose from for all types of appetites and preferences. I had the salmon scramble with goat cheese subbed in and it was very tasty and the portion was extremely generous. They also had plenty of gluten free options, which is always a good thing! My husband and dad had two different benedicts, and basically licked their plates clean. Other things ordered in our group: apple pancakes, the breakfast burrito, huevos rancheros, french toast, and lot's of the scrambles. It seemed like everyone else really enjoyed their food too. If anything was left on plates, it was due more to the portion sizes than anything! One thing I will note is that their coffee is nothing special, maybe even a bit subpar to most other café/diners. This wasn't a big deal because everything else was so good, but if you really rely on good coffee or espresso to get you going in the morning, you might want to stop at a coffee shop before heading here to enjoy breakfast!

Our friend had an awesome experience here previously so we all decided to come here for breakfast and try it out. The host guy had told us it would be a half hour wait, so our crew decided to take a stroll and explore the many, uh, riches of King's Beach. When we returned, the guy said he had already called us and pretty much scolded my friend. We were back under the time he had told us, and the place was slowing down anyways! We finally sit, and I ordered the classic eggs benedict. I have to agree with one of my fellow Yelpers that i did not like that it was served on a croissant instead of English muffins. This made it even more buttery and rich. The hollondaise was overly buttery as well, and the ham steak was difficult to cut inside the little bowl it was served in. I tried some of my sweet baby's veggie benedicts, and was not impressed. Overall, we had a mediocre experience here. But to be fair, I think Katie's in Carmel has ruined me for all other Eggs Benedict.

There are several places for BF around the lake we like and this is one of them. It can be popular at times so if you don't want to wait, call ahead as I think another reviewer mentioned. Sometimes after we walk the dogs in the forest we go with neighbors to the Log Cabin so we can visit and not have to deal with cooking and cleaning up afterwards. Tahoe is hot spot for transient young folks who work part time jobs so service at any restaurant can vary and sometimes a lot. Don't put up with bad service or poorly prepared food. Let them know and not just the server who is often in the middle.

I had the chicken fried steak, eggs and a biscuit. This is a cholesterol trap, but was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside and smothered in white gravy just like I used to eat in Maryland and Texas growing up. Not for the faint (or weak) of heart, but fun old fashioned breakfast food. I would do it again.

  • Gil S.

Back entrance please. . . . the sign points to a little pen partway from the road to the beach, where they serve you ice cream, sandwiches, and other food items on outdoor tables in a garden. Secluded and private, no real view horizontally but overhead are pine trees taller than your average construction crane, a nice place to get away from the highway bustle on King's Beach. Indoors I assume for wintertime.

Amazing quality, interesting menu, great atmosphere. It's not the cheapest breakfast you'll ever have, but it may be one of the best. The portions are enormous, so consider splitting with a friend or significant other.

Cajun Eggs Benedict ! Are you kidding? So Delicious! This IS the only place I am going to have Breakfast on my North Shore trips from now on. The Menu has so much to offer, I cant see how you could ever become tired of eating here.~The Waitress was pretty much the nicest woman I have ever met, The Food was fast and She kept my Coffee hot! ~ And I don't want to forget to mention how adorable and cozy the restaurant is. Is really feels that you are in your family Cabin on a Sunday morning~

Ate here with some friends the last time up at the lake. The food is very good , they changed up my order to what I wanted without a problem, the service was great, and the atmosphere was very relaxing out on the patio.

we've ate here a couple times in our trips up to the area. never had a bad meal and always left stuffed and content. we were recently here on a weekday and didnt have to deal with a line, or wait to get seated. i had the eggs Benedict and a cup of coffee. it was good and delicious. the potatoes were cooked right and the Benedict was just right, not too much hollandaise and eggs were cooked right. the only downside to this is that its on the main road, and its a pretty popular place. i've not been here on a weekend during peak ski season, or middle of summer, to experience the long waits... all in all, its a great place to return to.

  • Julia M.

I would have given it 5 stars except the prices are steep, even for Tahoe. My husband ordered the wheat pancakes and a side of bacon. The pancakes were huge (2 in an order) and the side of bacon came with 4 pieces. I ordered a plain waffle ( 1 in the order) and a side of custard with fruit. The custard was light and creamy and the strawberries fresh. Perfect slathered all over my waffle. You get a lot of food, but like I said before the prices were high. My single waffle was 7.99 and my custard and fruit was 4.50. Really yummy food but high prices.

Great quality and the Omellets was great. Freshly squeezed orange juice so it well as a mamosa! the service was great. the place is small so i can see where the seating might be a problem but other than that I would definetly go back.

I was up at Tahoe for our annual "guys weekend" and we decided to break from tradition of cooking at come here for Sunday breakfast yesterday. WOW! Great decision! This was the best breakfast i have had at ANY restaurant, ANYWHERE in a very long time. I was at the famous Mama's in North Beach in SF recently, and this BLEW IT AWAY in all respects. The wait was shorter than we expected, the service was great, and the food was awesome! The Crab Cakes Benedict was not available, so I went for the Cajun Benedict - great! Actually, everything we tried was excellent. Go here next time you are in Tahoe and you won't be disappointed. A bit more expensive than your average breakfast spot, but who cares. For breakfast this good, I don't mind paying a bit more.

  • Jon J.

The eggs benedict is a soupy, drippy mess, and repellent in every way. The omelettes are a bit greasy and taste Dennys-ish. Two stars for the tasty pancakes -- but let's be fair, it's hard to screw up pancakes.

So perhaps I'm just infinitely lucky, but I went here twice on my last Tahoe visit, and never waited a minute! The Log Cabin is very kitchy, but I love that kind of thing, so let's just say I was overly happy when I entered and it really did look like a log cabin. The first time I had the house coffee,( wasn't bad, but the lack of fresh cream was a little ick), and the Cajun Benedict with the croissant. Not only was this spicy shrimp benedict delicious, but I was offered an english muffin or a croissant, (contrary to some reviews). The spicy goodness with the gooey hollandaise and croissant was just the best combination EVER! My second trip was after reading some yelp reviews, so I knew to order the spicy hot chocolate (sooooo GOOD!!!), and because I always love trying something new, I had the bacon waffles. The hot chocolate did not disappoint, the waffle, however, did not live up to what I had in mind. There was bacon in it, but it just didn't have the salty/sweet flavor I was after (think Mo's milk chocolate bacon bar). I'll be back for the spicy chocolate and cajun benedict for sure!!!

I have a few rules for dining at the log cabin. Or anywhere for that matter. Rule # 1.... Never go to a place that has a wooden sign that states, " Voted Best Breakfast." Here's the funny thing... In the afternoon well after breakfast is over the sign reads," Voted Best Ice Cream." WTF... They change the sign?? Also, how can you have the best ice cream when you are serving dreyers. It's good and all but it's still store bought. Rule # 2.. don't ask the waitress for anything. Snooty attitude, poor service, no half and half for the coffee (which wasn't good). It's breakfast! Have decent coffee! Oh yeah, Bring a pen that works when flipping the bill. I'd rather dine at the post office. Rule # 3.. don't order the Chile Relleno Benedict, the Big gay Al sandwich or anything with a croissant at this place... My benedict had a runny, watery hollandaise sauce and the one piece of ham and egg didn't bode well with my dining partner on her sandwich. Reason for the 1 star... Poor service (had to get up and get our own hot sauce), flavor of the food was not good, coffee was just okay, it ruined our day. Luckily we had a beautiful lake to swim in and lots of treats in the fridge.

This place is bomb-tastic!!! My wife and I stumbled upon it on a recent trip to Tahoe, and we were quite impressed. We ordered the Blue Scramble and the Chile Relleno Benedict. It's not often that we find a breakfast shop that breaks the mold of the typical breakfast menu. The very next day we went back and split the Mexican Omelette and the French Toast Tower. Both very good. The French Toast Tower was very sweet and rich, but isn't that what you want when you order cinnamon roll french toast piled high with layers of vanilla custard and bananas! We'll definitely be going back to this place every time we visit Tahoe. Baam!

This was our second choice breakfast spot, after the first place we tried was not open on Monday mornings. Pros: they seat large parties, have relatively good service, a large selection of breakfast foods, and the food comes out really fast. Cons: An assortment of Eggs Benedict, but all served on croissants (when we asked the waitress, do they have english muffins, she said, "we only have real muffins." I kid you not) so the food is ridiculously rich, half of our place settings were dirty and were missing forks, and one of our party's breakfast didn't come out with the rest (the waitress had to ask again what she had ordered). Also, the potatoes had zero seasoning on them. I mean, not even a little salt and pepper...very bland. This place was okay. It satisfied in a "I might die of a heart attack" kind of way, but luckily being in Tahoe, you can work off rich breakfasts like this. I would probably go back, but only if our first choice place was closed again.

Went skiing over the 'weekend' and we decided to give The Log Cabin a try. The sign stated that it was voted the best breakfast, and being that we own a 'brunch' spot restaurant, we decided to give it a try. It was pretty good. I had the special Cranberry Orange Belgian Waffle with real maple syrup and the boy had Chicken Fried Steak, which he yelp.com/writeareview/bi… starsaid was really good. I also ordered a side of bacon that was ok, nothing fancy...but considering I am a little biased when it comes to bacon, it's probably just me. Service was good and very polite. We'll definitely go back again when we are up there.

Food was OK, prices too high, service was terrible. The waitress brought the wrong sides, forgot things, and never checked in to see if we needed anything (we did). They were nowhere to be seen for long periods of time. So, food would get a 3 or 4, but everything else a 1.

Super Delicious breakfast!! The wait was only 20 minutes on a late Sunday morning. - Bacon Waffles - Cajun Eggs Benedict - Salmon Eggs Benedict - Greek Scramble It was all super rich and tasty. Perfect hangover food or if you've spent the last week in the desert living off of beer, drugs and canned food. I had a taste of each item, and each was consistently gooooood.

Walked in here and about half the restaurant was full of tables that had yet to be cleared. They said it would be about ten minutes until they could clear a table and seat us. (There was one couple in front of us.) Anyway, after standing around well over ten minutes and being disgusted by all the old food and every empty table, we left and hit up the Old Post Office Cafe. Delicious and much better atmosphere. We even spoke to a local about the Log Cabin Cafe and she couldn't figure out why it was ranked so high. Skip this place.

I have been here countless times over the years but I feel that the quality of the food has gone downhill over the past couple years. We go for brunch and it gets busy. You can call ahead to put your name on the list. At my last visit, my pancakes were burnt. It shouldn't be that hard to make pancakes, right? I go for the nostalgia, not the quality.

Hit up the ice cream shop today close to closing. Service was very good, as were the ice cream sundaes and shake. As is common with this area, they get you on price, but overall worth it if you have a craving for ice cream shops.

Called ahead, so didn't have to wait long. Had the Cajun Shrimp Benedict, and it was sooooo good! This is only my 2nd time eating here. I think I had the lobster Benedict last time. Want to try some of the waffles and other cakey things, but just can't pass up the Benedict choices. Service was speedy.

I was walking around the Kings Beach Craft fair, when I saw the very crowded Log Cabin. People= good sign. I waited for about 20 minutes till seated. Ordered the Arizona French Toast & shared the Crab Cake Benedict with a friend. Mine was tasty, but a little skimpy for the 10.95 price. It was three pieces of toast coated with Crunchy oats and corn flakes. Yummy, but I wasn't all that satisfied. The Crab cake Benedict was very good- extremely rich. It was poached eggs with crab cakes and a croissant underneath. hollandise sauce on the side. A little pricey and what u order is is a big part of whether or not u will enjoy ur experience. Would go again to try other items :)

My sister and I were driving through King's Beach in search of breakfast when the sign proclaiming "voted best breakfast" caught our eye. In addition to the hungry people milling outside. Both very good signs. It was the Sunday in the middle of a three-day weekend and the wait as about 30 minutes. The service was quick and polite. The food arrived so fast that I swear the kitchen staff must be on speed. And it wasn't just our table - everyone around us was getting prompt service and fast food. And the food was YUMMY! I had the chorizo scramble and my sister had the lobster scramble. It turns out that you can substitute fruit for the potatoes. It was all fast, good and priced well.

First of all,the fresh squeezed orange juice was awesome, the food was good, everything was great until I used the restroom.I nearly threw up my breakfast. The toilet was COMPLETELY covered in dried and fresh urine,no soap,no paper towels, and was shared by men and women,so the employees are not washing their hands.can you imagine what the kitchen looks like???YUCKY!!!!!!!

Found this place with a simple Google of BEST BREAKFAST TAHOE. It was fabulous! Yah, you'll have a long wait on a weekend, but it's worth it. And they have this cool waiting room upstairs with a TV. The menu is typlcal of any great breakfast place with lots of egg and pancake dishes. Make sure to try the Mexican Hot Chocolate.

Breakfast. Breakfast. Breakfast. This is _the_ breakfast place to go, if you're in North Tahoe. French Toast made from a deep-fried cinnamon roll, with custard and whipped cream? Ohh yeah. Make sure you read the daily 'specials', listed on a board next to the hostess. So, I decided a good breakfast was in order, and gave them a call to make sure they'd still be serving. Until 1:30pm on Monday. Awesome! The atmosphere? Awesome. Feels very cozy, very home-style, but clean and an open floor plan. There is no walk-up counter, just a dozen or so tables, with a hostess seating you. The kitchen is close enough that you can hear them ring the bell for orders being ready. And that proximity is great, for the smells that waft forth. The menu comprises an assortment of waffles and pancakes, an assortment of eggs benedict (various styles), and various other breakfast fare. There's also the 'specials' menu, _and_ the daily impromptu specials - if you missed it, ask your server. The "French Toast Tower" was simply awesome, and wasn't on any of the printed menus. Portioning, I could've split breakfast, especially for my sugar-bomb special. In general, dishes are definitely sized to not leave you hungry, and they do not go light on the butter. (Not counting the side of honey-butter.) But you can also get a box for anything you don't finish. And when ordering multiple items, sharing is caring! I will absolutely be stopping in any time I'm in the area in the future, and recommending it to anyone else. If you'll be at NorthStar, or in the Truckee area, it's worth the extra drive.

outstanding breakfast, although I can only speak from the perspective of sliding in with no wait at 12:30 pm on a Friday. The biscuits and gravy were simply outstanding. Like others have mentioned, it's not a 5.95 breakfast joint, but then, it doesn't taste like it, either.

The best breakfast I've had in years, seriously. We ate here two days in a row, because it was simply that good. Start with a chocolate chip waffle, top it with the home made vanilla custard if you dare. It will blow you away with it's yummy goodness. Throw some feta and pesto into your scramble and add a side of bacon, very tasty. Finish off your meal with a plate of banana's sauteed in brown sugar and cinnamon. Happy tummy=happy snowboarder. I can't wait to go back.

The three of us called in with a reservation on a sunday. We were seated strait away with little wait. Staff was very friendly and fast. The place was packed so I would Make an early call in to avoid waiting for a table. I had the breakfast burrito.... pretty good... and huge. Wife had the waffle with strawberries and banana... She cleaned the plate with a smile. I will be going back again... cool cabin charm... good food.

I am simply amazed at the reviews this place gets. Last time we went with a party of five, the waitress walked out from the back of the kitchen brushing her teeth!! It was 7 am and her clothes looked like she had slept in them and possibly puked on herself. Surly attitude, food was OK. We live in Tahoe and avoid this place like the plague. Everytime we lose our minds we give it another try and are always disappointed. One time the potatoes smelled like fish and hell we just wondered where that came from. The funny thing is the fewer the customers the shittier and more arrogant the service. Check out the cleanliness of the place if nothing else.

  • Chrisitne L.

Yikes,a little sketchy, but suits the old cabin look, I guess. Please get rid of thestained carpet throughout, is that even compliant. Not worth the wait, or the price. Fresh garlic in eggs was pretty good, service average. You can try it but still not sure what all the hype is about. Voted best breakfast 12 years ago, maybe.

Most incredible breakfast ever!!! It's hard to decide between my favorites- the scramble ins are amazing but the Arizona French toast is to die for! Great customer service and killer bloody mary's and mimosas.

Meh. I appreciated the variety in the menu, but it was pricey, and I did not like the raisins in my french toast. The atmosphere was cool, and the waitress was friendly, but I didn't love it.

Great after a LATE and liquored night at the casinos, great early on a sober Sunday morning and great in the middle of the day for a lazy brunch. The portions, as mentioned are ENORMOUS as is the menu (selections range from standard breakfast fare to famed eggs Benedict to smoked salmon or lobster scrambler!). Order your bottomless coffee and your breakfast and you're in for a treat. Prices are fair considering the quality and quantity that you get. Now.. word to the wise: Be prepared to wait. and wait. and wait. Although they provide a great upstairs waiting area, it gets filled up quickly and you may be stuck in the minuscule entry way or outside (beware if it's winter!). Seems that they're chronically understaffed and overworked, and the service once you sit can be S-L-O-W. Still, the food can't be beat.

Great place but only go here if you don't plan on skiing. The wait on a weekend can easily tip into eternity. And who can ski after being filled up with delicious pancakes, eggs and other goodies. But on that Sunday when you are slipping out of Tahoe early to get ahead of the traffic this place is great.

  • Eric L.

Great breakfast joint with heaping portions of typical greasy spoon-type food. Bonus star because of the upstairs lounge equipped with a TV and Dora the Explorer running on a continuous loop because it kept all the parents with annoying kids out of the lobby area while we waited for a table.

Great place to have breakfast in North Tahoe - it was so good that we went both mornings on the weekend of our stay. The small restaurant gets really crowded and the parking lot begins extending into the street by late morning. The wait can be quite long, especially for larger groups, but they have a seating area upstairs and there is the option to call ahead to put your name on the waiting list. Everything that we ordered was delicious, but I would especially recommend the Lobster Eggs Benedict. The portions are generous and the prices reasonable for how much food you're getting. The Mexican Hot Chocolate was also very good, and the guys loved the Bacon Belgian Waffles (there was actual bacon inside the batter). Needless to say, the next time we are in the area this will still be our go-to place every morning for breakfast.

The Log Cabin Cafe bills itself as the Best Breakfast in the North Tahoe region, or something to that effect. I don't know if I would go that far, but the food was pretty good. A few things to consider: This place is pricey. On top of that, the place is small and the wait-time is often long. Make sure you call ahead to give the hostess your name, which will greatly reduce your wait-time. I had the traditional Eggs Benedict and I have to say that they were solid. Good eats, but the price and long waits prevent the Log Cabin Cafe for picking up that last star.

We stopped by for breakfast on a Friday morning. The place was about half full. There were 3 unbused tables. The wait staff were moving at a snails pace. My husband and I joked that everyone looked totally stoned. We waited for a menu at a dirty table for 10 minutes. Other people came in and got menus and drinks right away. Another patron got up and poured her own coffee and got her kid a place setting. Overall, the place was filthy and just not running efficiently. For the first time in years and years, we walked out. We ended up at Brook St for breakfast. It was fantastic, spotless, friendly and fresh.

This place gets SUPER busy for breakfast so expect a wait time of 35-40 mins to be seated. They don't take reservations but if you call them they will put your name down on the waiting list and let you know how long it is before your party will be seated- then you can plan your arrival just before then and save yourself from having to stand around outside, inside-downstairs or upstairs with the other people waiting to be seated. The food was good but prices are above average for what you're getting. I ordered the Cajun eggs Benedict which had great flavor but for the price I paid I would rather see 2 large or 4 medium sized shrimp with my eggs~ I was not expecting the tasteless tiny baby shrimp I got instead. They should clearly state that under the description of this dish in the menu. The flavorful sauce is the saving grace for the Cajun eggs Benedict. Beverages on menu are disgustingly overpriced but I suppose I will be back to sample other menu items, though probably not early in morning with the crazy breakfast rush to save myself the fight for a parking space in their tiny parking lot and also to save myself the hassle of a long wait to be seated.

Log cabin outside. Interesting mix inside. Food is pretty good. Pancakes were thin but had good flavor. There is a wide range from down home biscuits and gravy to trout covered in Hollandaise Sauce. A little to "BOOJEE"! Trying to be more than it is. Be a breakfast place. A little overrated but OK. WHen I am going out for breakfast I am looking for eggs not something from the Ritz Carlton wrapped inside a Log Cabin. Interesting...just not my cup of tea.

Great breakfast. Had to wait maybe 45 minutes for a table. The food was pretty good. Not the best breakfast I've ever had, but I'll be back whenever I'm in King's Beach again.

So from here on out, my Yelp review rating system is as follows: 1 star = Harsh 2 stars = Weak 3 stars = whatevs 4 stars = coo 5 stars = bowse With the ground work in place, we shall begin... Based on my two visits to The Log Cabin, I'm gonna slap it as a coo-bowse. Granted, the first time I came here I was brutally hung-over...not that playful euphemism, "of getting the hair of the dog that bit you", but outright fu**ed up. So that time doesn't count. The second time we were here was vaguely similar to the first, but without the hangover (thank god). It's super packed inside, but I reckon that it plays well with their log cabin motif and capitalist objectives. Large # of tables + Large # of people = warm and cozy as a mug If you're claustrophobic or on a first date and don't want to sweat in front of the other, then I wouldn't come to the cabin. On a food tip, I got the bowse-a** cajun benedict, and the lady got a hot carl or a big lou or something...regardless, i thought the name of her dish was hilarious (and delicious decadent). I you're in the market for a sexual sounding breakfast, just get what she got.

Best breakfast I've had in Tahoe. You can call ahead to get your name on the list. Friendly service, which I have learned is unusual in Tahoe. Food came out less than 10 min after we ordered and the place was packed. Veggie Benedict, add spinach. Delicious!! Tasted like it was all from scratch. Very impressive for diner food.

The three of us enjoyed an outstanding breakfast here while visiting Lake Tahoe recently. Although the place was busy on a Friday morning and they recommend calling ahead, we were seated immediately. I got the smoked salmon and egg breakfast and was extremely pleased. We were also pleasantly surprised to find the prices lower than expected. Our server was funny and engaging. This really was a great place.

I've come here 3 times now and I have never been disappointed. Although I should probably deviate my favourite Blue Cheese scramble. The portions are copious and the flavours are really strong. Coffee was good and the waiting service was excellent. I ordered the bacon waffle (since it was my birthday) on the side and they were nice enough to bring it with a candle !

Good vegan options. You can get tofu scramble-ins (sans cheese) which are something like omelets by way of a stir fry. You can pick what you want in it, so it was pretty nice. the tofu surprise was not too exciting but perfectly fine. They were out of soymilk when i went so i didn't try the spicy hot chocolate. They have a lot of non-veg food as well. a lot of stuff with ocean shellfish, which is odd being on a freshwater lake, but whatever. Parking is tight. Small lot with barely enough space to maneuver. I think they made part of the lot into a shady patio dining area, which is nice to eat and all, but still. Service seemed nice to everyone except me. The waiter kept ignoring me for some reason. Otherwise he seemed charming.

Good food. Interesting breakfast options, like Cajun eggs benedict, with shrimp and "cajun hollandaise." HUGE portions, but not cheap. My breakfast burrito was enormous and tasty, but it cost $12, which is a drawback. The Mexican hot chocolate is delicious; I recommend the spicy version. Friendly service, and the food was made to order. We visited in the off-season, so the dining room was empty. I bet it's a different experience during ski season.

This is a solid option for breakfast. Good food, hearty portions and reliable service. The decor was not my personal favorite (rustic log cabin with quilts and other crafts hanging from walls) but the log cabin theme might be fun for some. It's a bit darker and homier (dare I say more "romantic") than a diner-style breakfast joint. And also slightly pricier. But you are bound to find something on their menu to satisfy both sweet and savory cravings in the morning.

We went there to check it out, as it was voted "best breakfast" and all(voted In 1996- it's on a plaque in the upstair waiting room.) There was a one-hour wait for a table at breakfast. While waiting, there was quite a lively discussion in the waiting room, among salivating strangers, as to our expectations to justify a one-hour wait time! We justified that it must be so; we all endured our grumbling tummies....Sorry to say I left after my meal with my tummy still grumbling and with that as my parting impression it's doubtful I will patronize this establishment again. Well here's my experience - Menu: the menu by itself, fantastic, for all its creativity and variety! Service: the service was very friendly and efficient. Atmosphere: it's very homey, can use a little investment, especially in the waiting room and foyer -- but all is in fair condition. Price: outrageous! My ten year old's breakfast burrito was the most expensive burrito you could imagine. 12.95 plus 2.95 to have bacon in it. Come on he's a picky eater so he didn't want the beans, cheese, salsa guac, etc All he wanted was: eggs, lettuce and bacon! so they charged the full burritto price and a side of bacon. That's it, all by itself on a plate.(For that price I could have bought ingredients to serve twelve such burrittos.) My one cranberry orange waffle was delicious for $9.95 plus $1.95 for the real maple syrup and it was only enough food for a snack really, like having a 3 ounce muffin (& paying for 4).... The plate only had a single waffle on it. No piece of fruit or anything on the side to accommodate it. Did I mention, it was the same amount of food as a muffin? This is why I have to give the restaurant only 1 star because I think there is a lack of consideration of value to the customer.

Cute little Cabin style restaurant. Place was really busy the morning we went in for breakfast, but they have a nice waiting area upstairs on the second floor. Food was absolutely delicious - the lobster eggs was so yummy & so was the cajun style eggs! Definitely one of the best breakfasts I've ever had, totally worth the 30 minute wait. Server was really nice & friendly, which made the entire breakfast experience even more pleasant :)

The Log Cabin is a nice little place for breakfest in Kings Beach, but its good mainly for the lack of competition. As others have said, the service is a bit snooty, which in a town like this full of really chill people stick out like a sore thumb. The decor on the inside is really nice and really is like a log cabin. The waffles are OK, but if you order anything in them, its all clumped in the center. The potatoes are greasy, which could be a good or bad thing depending on your hangover. The portions are generous without being insane. The coffee is so-so and I agree with some other Yelpers that the coffee needs to be better. Prices are a bit high as well.

Called ahead as suggested. Arrived 20 minutes later, still had to wait 20 more minutes. Crowded 8 of us into a table for 6. Did bring crayons and toys for the kids which was nice. Waitress was nice but overwhelmed by the number of patrons in her section. Failed to bring water when asked, didn't refill coffee. Other patrons got up and got their own refills. The food was a mixed bag. Simpler seemed to be better here. Scrambled eggs, waffle with eggs and bacon were good. Eggs Benedict, Breakfast Burrito and biscuits and gravy left something to be desired. Take average food and mediocre service and it wasn't worth the $115 price tag. May be better when its not as crowded. Still, probably better places close by for the money.

Ah. Maze. Zing!!! A friend recommended the Log Cabin and we fell in love!! I had the crab cakes eggs Benedict, hubby the Cajun eggs Benedict and son had something with eggs and a ham/cheese croissant sandwich. Old breakfast joint from my Incline Village/Godfather Mafia days :) As stated in some of my other reviews, my friend is a pancake fiend and she loves the pancakes here. All your other standard breakfast fare is also solid. Since it's so small and good my only gripe is there can be a decent sized wait, so if you're going here make sure it's going to be a leaisurely one where you're not looking to be on time somewhere shortly after.

Yummy!!!!! Love The food. I ordered the chicken fajitas scramble and it was sooooo good. Coffee was horrible, tasted like it was from the bottom of the barrel lol but the cola soda was so sweet and delicious. Defiantly would come again. Service was great and not too much of a wait.

My wife and I just finished our trip to Tahoe and figured we would try this place on our way out. It was the best and most regrettable decision. The best because we stopped in and the food was great and very reasonable. Regrettable that we did not come here more often, there are just so many great choices on the menu and we only had the chorizo scramble and baked apple pancakes, both just blew our minds. Looking forward to our next trip to Tahoe and will make this a regular breakfast stop.

Rachel Ray stopped in here one and raved about it, and so its have many reviews. One of there dishes made it into a food magazine. Living in Sonoma, you can bet we know how to cook farm to table. This place serves a good breakfast. Not mind blowing but good. They have a lot of different Benedict dishes as well as any breakfast places. They are a bit pricey too. But the staff was very friendly and gave recommendations for options. My wife and I come from big families who love to cook, plus being a chef I have high standards too. The Log Cabin says they make there own croissants. But their open kitchen is so small, I wonder how they make the dough. I would bet they buy pre made dough and just proof it and bake it. They looked to uniformed to be house-made. I let our server pick my dish, she brought me the eggs Benedict on a croissant. The bottom bun was completely soaked with hollandaise sauce as the top part was toasted. The sauce was a bit too lemony and lacked the hint of heat form Tabasco, plus it was garnished with about a tablespoon of paprika. All it needed was just a light sprinkle. They served it in a rarebit dish that was on a plate with country style potatoes. My wife ordered the chorizo skillet. Nothing special about this dish. Came with the normal side salsa and flour tortilla. Two breakfasts. 2 lattes, $50.00. As I stated at the beginning, a little pricey for average food. I think this place is hit by the locals and to them it's the best they've had. I'm not sure how long ago Rachael Ray came in there. But they need to up their standards.

I've had the pleasure of eating here several times and am always impressed. Service is welcoming and accommodating, food quality is absolutely amazing, and even when it's packed they get you in quickly. I've had many of their scrambles and truly enjoy the unique combinations they come up with.

Tahoe tradition after a summer day on the Lake. The ice cream is delicious but the serving sizes are very inconsistent which is challenging with a large group. We came here 2 days in a row and unfortunately had the same server. She was very nice, but her scoops would range from 2 bite size to cup overfloweth. A single scoop costs almost $4.00. It is a quaint place with an out door patio. Have not eaten in the Resturaunt. Just be prepared for the difference in serving sizes.

Decent place. Usually a little busy but plenty of seating inside for those waiting for a table. Waitstaff is your typical Tahoe servers, don't smile, not overly friendly but they get the job done. Food is pretty good, comfort breakfast food. Overall, if you have a little time to wait for a table, and you want a traditional breakfast, this is the place for you.

It's our first family vacation in Incline Village, and we chose this restaurant for breakfast today. It has a cozy, homey atmosphere, and the food was really good. My girls liked their pancakes, I liked my bacon waffle, and my husband liked his shrimp dish. The service was a little slow as far as refilling iced tea & coffee, otherwise I would have given it five stars. Prices were a little high too.

I came here once about 8 years ago and remembered it as being great food so...... when I found myself in Tahoe today with my husband, looking for breakfast I said "ooh lets go here it was great!" Now right away I told my hubby to "remember we are in Tahoe so this place wont be cheap but if I remember right the food was great." On our way in I saw on the special board outside that they had Pumpkin waffles "YUMM!" So after a not too bad 15 min wait in the relatively comfy waiting room upstairs we were called. We got our drinks pretty quickly. Mine an iced tea and my husband a coffee. So my first complaint is the iced tea was in a very small mason jar and I never got a refill even after I asked for one. My husband's coffee he said was mediocre at best an in a place famous for the "best breakfast in town" you would think they would have better coffee. Especially at $3.25 a cup which nets around $35 a pot given that a refill is so hard to get, and lets not even go there on how much ice tea must make at $3.25 for a little tiny mason jar. With tea bags costing practically nothing at all. Next we ordered..... I told my waitress that I wanted to try the pumpkin waffle that was listed out front. She said "sure would you like something with it?" I said "yah maybe like some bacon and potatoes....?" now at this point I just assumed (My bad) that she would just sort of make a meal out of what I wanted since it wasn't in the menu it was a special out front for the waffle. I was wrong. I got a waffle on a plate, some bacon on a plate and some potatoes on a plate. Now granted they were all delicious 4 pieces of bacon was $5 some potatoes was $5 and a waffle yes one waffle was $11. There is no way on gods green earth that if on the menu you were presented A (one) waffle some bacon and some potatoes and said it was $21 would anyone buy it. My husband got the chicken fried steak and said it was delicious but not the biggest portion for $15. So here is the break down: Breakfast for two.... 1 waffle, bacon, potatoes $21 Chickenfried steak, eggs, muffin $15.95 coffee and Iced tea no refills $6.50 tax $5 ish Total was $46 and change FOR BREAKFAST FOR TWO!!!!!!! The food was great but not that great. We will NOT be returning, even though we drive to kings beach every Sunday morning all winter after taking our son to Mt. Rose to Snowboard for the day.

Great eggs benedicts. Awesome for kids - large waiting area upstairs with videos playing. Also be sure to call in ahead of time - saves you time waiting in person.

Amanda our server was very pleasant. Our food was yummy. Lobster Scramble with garlic, dill, provolone cheese. My eating partner in crime had the oatmeal. The oats were steel cut and of course a good presentation of the extra raisins, walnuts & brown sugar. Highly recommend ordering the cinnamon on the side with your oatmeal. I will be going back and looking forward I seeing Amanda again. Sorry OPO found a few places in NLT that treat customers, like customers.

Very cute brunch spot and very delicious. I got the chorizo scramble, which was YUM! My husband got the biscuits and gravy and loved it. He talked about it for the rest of the day, which isn't something he normally does. Great spot and if you're in the area you should stop by.

First time customer, heard lots of great reviews, and it's all true! This place was great, small and cozy, called ahead and arrived and got seated right away. Food was great, especially the seasonal pumpkin chocolate chip pancakes! Waiters very friendly and assertive, going again tomorrow!

Saw ad that they were on Rachel Ray's so I decided to give it a shot. Parking is in short supply so arrive early or find some street parking. Once I entered, I was asked to go upstairs to the waiting room, where I stayed for 20 minutes and I think they forgot about me. Had to go back downstairs to see if the table was ready and finally got seated. I had the blue cheese scramble with bacon and onion, side of fruit with a banana and chocolate chip muffin for $14. Coffee was $4. Overall a nice meal, but not worth the money.

The log cabin is as good as it gets for breakfast. We both had the special with biscuits and gravy yummy. The order came with two eggs and the must perfect sausage. Everything anybody had looked great. Can't wait to go back

Travelers & foodies here. We've been to a lot of places and eaten a lot of food. We have nothing but great things to say about Log Cabin Cafe. Attention out-of-towners! Don't miss this place! For us, service was great (non-stop friendliness and constant re-filling of our drinks), there was no wait (though we heard weekends could be tough so call ahead), and the atmosphere was fun & lively. But. The. Food. OH MAN. That Arizona french toast? DON'T miss it. Their scrambles? A MUST. And overall, here is our stance: breakfast basics done incredibly well. But also, if you like the unexpected-- new flavors & concepts bombarding your palette, this is the place for you. Staple dishes, as well as unique breakfast platters, are all available to you here. There is no losing. Everyone will be happy here. This is the place you guys. This is the place. Stop perusing Yelp. This is the place.

best little breakfast spot in north Lake Tahoe! Atmosphere is cozy and the breakfast variety is amazing!! I tried their gingerbread pancakes topped with homemade custard, and hands down best pancakes I ever had!!!! perfect moist texture, not too sweet or heavy.

Without any doubt the best breakfast place in north tahoe.. I had never tasted a better tofu than this place. Food & service was great. Plan ahead as there is always a waiting but they have a waiting room upstairs. Over all it's tiny cozy breakfast place..

Our friends took us here the last day of our trip for brunch. First Impressions: Small parking lot and hope you have a truck and boots to park in that slush. Cute cabin restaurant. Waiting area looked like 2 chairs in the middle of a dining room. Which was fine because they sat us pretty quickly. Apparently this was one of Rachel Ray's favorite places to eat. Style: Indoors felt like visiting grandma in the woods. Knitted art pieces on the wall, decorated brick fireplace, low wood-beam ceilings, and a menu of comfort food. Taste: Ordered the lobster omelette with potatoes. It was big enough for two. Best lobster omelette I have had. They put enough meat in there which I liked. The potatoes were crisp and seasoned well. Everyone loved their food. Drumroll: I will be back when I am not that full from a weekend of food debauchery to try more of their menu. Overall happy with the food.

Food is good, not great. If you're a vegan in Tahoe and are looking for some breakfast, they do serve a tofu scramble with a solid variety of ingredients to add to it. Unfortunately, they do the scramble with cubed tofu rather than silk tofu. The hostess, Brittany, was amazing. Her cheerful attitude and big smile got our meal off to a wonderful start. Unfortunately, we ended up with the one waitress that seemed to be having an awful day. All of the others were sporting friendly smiles. So, not a bad place to grab breakfast, and they've got some basic, vegan fare. I'm sure you'll end up getting a happy, attentive server as well. Seemed like a fluke that we didn't. Enjoy!

We saw that they were voted the best breakfast in Tahoe so we figured we'd give it a try on a Wednesday. We were seated immediately. The menu had lots of good stuff to choose from. My hubby got the chocolate chip waffle breakfast and I had the breakfast burrito. It came out super fast and was piping hot. My husband was worried it wouldn't fill him but it did. We look forward to a few more trips here before we leave Tahoe because there are many things we want to try. Our waitress was excellent as well considering she was the only waitress on the floor.

Visiting the area driving around Lake Tahoe and saw the full parking lot. Had to stop and give it a try. Very glad we did. They have awesome waffles with the bacon cooked INSIDE of the waffle. Brilliant They also have a list if variations of Eggs Benedict. Tried the classic on a croissant. Another home run. The hollandaise is made from scratch daily and you can definitely tell. Everything was absolutely delicious. Very busy, so you might have to wait a little, but it's well worth it.

Cozy and quaint...just what I image a small town breakfast place would be. I made reservations and was seated right away. By the end of the meal, the wait was long, as measured by the people in the upstairs waiting room. Yes, this is an old house converted to a restaurant, but it appears that someone still resides there. I ordered the waffle breakfast. The waffle was as large as the plate, fluffy and covered with strawberries and bananas. The meal included eggs and crispy bacon. We canceled our side of fruit because there was plenty on my waffle. My husband had the eggs benedict. Portion was large, and his only complaint was that it was smothered with sauce. Service was pretty good until they got busy. The server said they would bring us some syrup, check-back and forgot the fruit (which we canceled because of my dish). But I cannot complain too much here. On the whole, Log Cabin is a great place to eat. Make reservations, anticipate tricky parking and you are set.

IM TORN, because staff was a 1 and food was a 5. We arrived and the hostess told us 23-35 minutes, and it was a long wait, rather uncomfortable to wait inside given the extremely limited space upstairs waiting room or downstairs. People were waiting even outside in the cold rain, one patron even irresponsibly left a dog tied up outside with only partial cover in the cold rain (told staff and no one acted on it). I had to go up to the hostess, who was completely oblivious of how to do her job properly several times, and we wanted a four top, and she kept sitting two-tops that were after us, instead of combining two tables. Well, besides that, we waited given the rave reviews and the menu options. The food was amazing, I had the Creole shrimp Benedict which was very authentic and filled me up for hours, the side potatoes it brought were not flavorful at all, but the Benedict made up for it. The vegetarian style huevos ranchero was also extremely fresh and delicious, and authentic. The Custard french toast with whip and strawberries blew our mind, so delicious! YOU CAN CALL IN BEFORE GOING- TO GET ON THE WAITING LIST! DO IT!

Decided on Log Cabin Cafe for brunch after reading the rave Yelp reviews! Let me say, I was certainly not disappointed! Signs outside boast that the restaurant has the "best brunch in Tahoe" and was featured on the Rachel Ray show. I will admit, I went in with high expectations. As I browsed the menu during our 10 minute wait, I felt a slight wave of anxiety rush over me as there were way too many amazing offerings to choose from! I wanted to get one of everything! I finally decided on the Cajun Benedict- blackened shrimp with poached eggs over a fresh croissant, topped with cajun hollandaise sauce and served with house potatoes. This particular dish was written up in Bon Apetit magazine, and I can see why! It was deliciously packed with flavor, with just the right amount of richness and spice. We also shared the Big Lou- a croissant stuffed with creamed spinach, ham and provolone cheese, two eggs any style and house potatoes. Not on par with the benedict, but certainly impressive in it's own right. Service was a tad slow, but very friendly. We sat on the cute outside patio. Mimosas are made with 100% fresh squeezed Odwalla OJ and only $5. In the words of our former governor, I'll be back.

Simply amazing. Recently visited this restaurant while up in Tahoe for the weekend. One of the best breakfasts I've ever had. Ordered the Cajun Eggs Benedict on a Croissant. So amazing! Could not get enough. Potatoes were not memorable, but the eggs more than make up for them. Worth a small detour.

Pretty good place. Service was a bit slow, but food was good. I had the Cajun Eggs Benedict, which was great. I would suggest this or the Chicken Fajitas Scramble. Coffee was okay- not the best. The environment is okay- quiet and cozy. There is enough parking near the side of the restaurant for a good handful of people. I would call ahead for a table on weekends.

Stopped by here for the first time for brunch today. Maybe because it is Friday, we were able to be seated right away. It's by no mean empty, especially for a weekday. Both the Mr and I ordered mocha, which was excellent! I wish I had their mocha every morning. Pretty good size menu, so it took us a bit of time to decide what we wanted. I settled on the Lobster scramble egg dish and the Mr had the traditional eggs Benedict. Food came very fast, which was appreciated as we were starved after a gym session earlier that am. I have to admit that I am not a huge fan of brunch (yes, I know it's weird!), so I normally have a hard time finishing up my meal. But, I seriously gulped down the lobster scrambled so quick one would think I hadn't eaten in days. My parents would have been so proud if they were here; for the first time ever, my plate was clean, down to the banana muffin. The Mr really enjoyed his eggs Benedict too. He said it's one of the best he's had and he should know, he's had a lot! That is his to go brunch dish. We will be back next time we are in Tahoe. This is worth a stop!

This year my husband and I did something that we have never done before for Christmas. We decided to get away and spend a nice, relaxing and stress free week in North Shore Lake Tahoe!! After enjoying our Christmas , the day after we decided to have breakfast at the Log Cabin Cafe, we've never been there before , but have heard great things! As we entered the Log Cabin Cafe is was cozy, homey and cute! We sat at a table next to the fire place and we ordered 2 mimosa's , my husband ordered the Angus chicken fried steak and eggs. I ordered the crab cake egg benedict !! It was ALL delicious!! Decently priced and not too bad of a wait. Overall we enjoyed our meal, had great service and a great time!! I can't wait to go back- I highly recommend coming here!!!!

Great spot in North Lake Tahoe for traditional american food. I would recommend going there for breakfast since their breakfast menu is amazing. We got there for breakfast at 8am in the morning and the place was packed, which is always a good clue. The staff is really nice. The restaurant has a lot of charm and creates a nice and cosy "mountain ambiance". Very recommended!

Coming here for some comfort breakfast food after a weekend of cabin festivities was highly anticipated by my group, so we decided that the 45 min wait would be worth it. It turned out to be a slightly HUGE disappointment... I ordered the Big Lou and he got the salmon scramble with croissant. Definitely not worth the $30 (including a modest tip). For the Big Lou, expect a slice or two of canadian bacon (aka ham) with cheese sandwiched by a thin oily croissant with the greater portion of the plate occupied by very generic country potatoes. Not anything I would order again. The salmon scramble was a bit more unique, however it's just scrambled eggs with flecks of fishy salmon, and once again a large side of bland potatoes. -Maybe we should have invested into trying some specials that were in the higher price range, but a restaurant brandishing the support of Racheal Ray should definitely be more impressive in all aspects of their menu. Also: understaffed during the busiest brunch time on a Sunday (smh). If anything, maybe we got really unlucky and ordered the two worst items on their menu, but I will now be more wary of celebrity endorsements. Many apologies to my trusting group of friends that were dragged here by my hyped up and inaccurate memory of this place! -.-"

We check this place out because of the 4 star review. It's defiantly cozy. The restaurant is a converted 2 floor 1500 sq foot house. Very country, cozy and very much reminded me of my grandmothers house. Especially the waiting area located on the second floor. The food all sounded good and the portions are good. I forgot what mine was called but it came with 2 eggs, hash browns and a croissant with ham and cheese. It was good but nothing to brag about. My husbands was better but I can't remember what he had. I'm still going to go back to try something else

Took the family here for some ice cream during a rainy August day in Tahoe. We found our way to the rear of the restaurant where the ice cream shop is. Very nice guy who served us up, letting us take a few taste tests, patiently. The ice cream is pretty good...nothing really that different from Baskin Robins, but still good quality. Would definitely go back.

The breakfast was delicious. I had the crab Benedict. We were sat very quickly. The decor was festive and charming. The service was fairly prompt. Once the order was taken I think it was less than ten minutes and our food arrived. The crab cake was fresh the eggs perfect. The only criticism I would have is the muffin and crab cake lost their crispy because of the casserole presentation. The potatoes were nice not tons of favor but it left the customer to choose to drench in yolk or stirrup or ketchup to their liking. Definitely going back. On the main road just before the state line to Nevada.

So I can understand Best Breakfast in Tahoe if we break it down that's not all that hard.... As I was eating impressed with the cleanliness I looked at the kitchen and saw a table Dan coated in grossness blowing into the kitchen made me cringe Sadly the scratch Hollandaise had far too much lemon and was not warm enough The biscuits and gravy were just ok too Probably going to stick to Cafe Elise

I was in Tahoe for a girls weekend and we ended up having breakfast here. The food was amazing, probably the best breakfast I've had in north lake. It's a small place and they have a waiting room upstairs. Normally I eat at Jax on the Trax, which is a good solid breakfast but it's not super inventive.

I thought I had written a review about this place before, but I guess I didn't. Well...I'm not really sure what has happened to the Log Cabin Cafe, but we aren't as impressed as we once were. On this recent visit, it was the first time we didn't have a wait on a Saturday. Between the 5 of us, we ordered waffles, pancakes, eggs benedict and poached eggs, fried eggs, bacon, sausage, oj, coffees and teas. The bill, before tip, was over $80 and we all left saying it wasn't money well-spent. The first order of poached eggs (we ordered them with medium whites/soft middles) came out inconsistent. My daughter's eggs were practically raw/my eggs were way over-cooked. We showed the waitress who agreed that they were definitely not what we had ordered and she sweetly had new eggs prepared. Even the new eggs weren't very good and we all agreed that we make better poached eggs at home. The eggs benedict, which we had never had before, weren't anything special. Considering the reputation of this restaurant and the prices they charge, I would think each dish would be out-of-this-world. The other items were just "okay." Nothing special. We have a timeshare in the area and come here a couple times a year. We've decided we won't be back.

Great food. Good service. One of the best place in North Lake Tahoe but a bit over priced. This is breakfast and brunch food elevated to perfection. This pancake is one of the best ever. Breakfast potato is awesome. Basically, can't go wrong with anything.

Good food, slow service. I came here on a Tuesday morning with my husband having heard this was the best place in town for breakfast. I have to say, the food was pretty tasty. Especially the baked goods. I had a muffin and it was probably one of the best muffins I've ever had. (I inhaled that thing!) I got an omelett, which was ok as far as an omelette goes, but in retrospect I wish I'd gotten gingerbread pancakes, since this place seems to make a mean baked good. The service was extremely slow, I think there was only one waitress working the whole place and it was fairly busy. Definitely not somewhere to grab a quick bite, you come here to socialize and admire the quilts hung on the walls. I'd come back again.

I give two stars only because the food is delicious! On the other hand, the service is awful! The last 4 times I've gone, I've had bad service. If you have a lot of patience, I recommend it. Otherwise, don't waste your time.

I read about this place on Yelp while looking for a place to go to brunch, and this place looked good so we drove from Incline VIllage. It was pretty dead on that October Friday around noon. In fact we were the only customers for some time. The decor is a little kitschy and themed towards the season (Fall/Halloween when we were there) and there are several quilts displayed that you can purchase as well. Sitting down, the table looked a little dirty under the glass. It could use a little cleaning under there. The menus are pretty big. We perused the breakfast and lunch menu. I ended up going for lunch, a veggie medley sandwich along with breakfast potatoes - their fryer for fries was out of commission. The sandwich came with several different veggies along with cream cheese. One of the veggies (fruits?) was jicama, which I have never seen on a sandwich before and lent an awesome texture to it. The bread was really soft and fresh. It made for a great sandwich! The potatoes were also perfectly cooked and seasoned. I was glad that I got them instead of fries. I also had a hot chocolate - delicious. My dining companions all loved their meals - the smoked salmon eggs benedict, the "big lou" - a croissant sandwich with ham and cheese, and the Arizona french toast. All looked good and were generous portions. Service was really good the whole time. We definitely would come back and recommend!

Every time I come to Lake Tahoe I have to eat here. This morning my fiancé and I went there for breakfast. We were told the wait would be 20-30 mins and didn't even have to wait 15. I ordered the tortilla scramble and added Ortega chiles, it was the best thing I've had there. My fiancé had a custom scramble and said that it was delicious, much better than last time when he ordered an omelette. We will be back and I highly recommend you visit.

I grew up going to the log cabin, so when I decided to take my husband and kids there to experience good food and fond memories, I was extremely disappointed in not only the service and employees, but the food as well. Let's start with the customer service and staff. Every single member of staff is unpleasant, and seems as though taking your order and serving you is the worst thing that's ever happened to them. They are filled with passive aggressive tones, eye rolls, and lots of attitude. At the end of our service when we received the check, I handed the waitress our card to pay, as I watch her she goes over to her station places my card by the computer and completely walks off to take other customers orders, leaving my card out in the complete open for anyone to take. My husband and I were horrified to say the least and immediately went over to get our card until she was ACTUALLY ready to ring it up. After I confronted the waitress she got extremely defensive and said she could see it in the mirror. Yet, both my husband and I and another customer could confirm she completely walked away and was panicked when she saw my card was gone until she came back over and I told her I had it. The food. The food used to be wonderful, fresh ingredients, but I am sad to the say that is not the case anymore. Everything tastes like it came out of a box, the food tastes cheap and is severely overpriced for the quality of the cuisine. Not to mention ANYTHING extra, is charged (including maple syrup). I am sad to say I would recommend that you stay away from this place as it is not what it used to be.

Good coffee, super quick food service, and a cozy cabin "diner" is what they represent. I was craving a classic breakfast and they delivered (Mom's Favorite). They have a ton of options, so it's easy to get what you want. Eggs were perfectly made to my exact liking (offered immediately by our friendly server and nothing I had to push). The GIANT, fresh fruit bowl was a nice surprise and a great seasonal variety. Our server kept our coffee hot the entire time. I must also note that our bottle of water was quite cold. When they can, they use local ingredients and that always makes a difference. If you call ahead, you can get placed on the wait list so that's a nice touch for future visits.

The best breakfast ever. We visit the log cabin whenever we are in Lake Tahoe. Everything on the menu is great. Call ahead and put your name on the list about 30-40 min in advance because the place is ALWAYS busy. That way you can wait in the comfort of your home, hotel, or wandering the wonderful shops that are around the restaurant.

We stopped in for late breakfast on Thursday, 3 of the 4 of us ordered the Cajun eggs Benedict on a croissant...... Best food choice I made the entire week ! It was the most delishious thing I ate all week ! All four of my party loved the food, yes, it is a lil pricey, but so good, we didn't mind paying for good quality food. Wish I lived closer or had the recipe , cause it's that good !!!!!

You guys. Seriously, you guys. This place....you guys...OHMIGOD YOU GUYS! Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict. Bacon Waffles. The very existence of these two items makes the sun shine, the birds sing and the seas part. They are breakfast items in which dreams are made of. They were what we hoped they would be...and more. I cannot accurately describe the mouthgasm that happened eating this breakfast food. However, I will say, that this is one of the best breakfast items to come into contact with my happy belly. It was rich and salty (not overwhelmingly so in my opinion), the salmon wasn't overbearing and the hollandaise sauce was perfection. The portion was the perfect amount, leaving me full for well into the afternoon. The bacon waffle my boyfriend order had crunchy bacon bits inside, as well as delicious bacon topping the waffle. We both were extremely satisfied with our food choices. The options are a little above the standard breakfast diner costs, but worth every penny. The food is fresh and not served from a can. The service was friendly and fast. We arrived around noon midweek, so we didn't have a problem securing a table. Surprisingly though, the place was packed for a Monday. I recommend this place 100%!

This is a smallish restaurant in King's Beach that is known for their breakfasts. We have been there many times over the years and it has always been jammed packed when we go. Our visit this December was no exception. We do appreciate that you can call ahead and put your name on the wait list. However, once we arrived we still had to wait over 30 minutes. There was not much waiting room and it was freezing outside so we were a bit uncomfortable, but not a deal breaker. The uncomfortableness continued, however, during our meal as we were sat right next to the door which was continuously being opened and closed. So we ate with our big coats on. Again, not a deal-breaker. The saddest part of the meal was that I ordered the Eggs Benedict, my most favorite of breakfast dishes and the egg was cooked hard. Deal breaker for me. I probably will think twice before heading to the Log Cabin for breakfast next time. However, everyone else in our group really enjoyed their meals.

For the high maintenance: you can get soy chais here! Win! Amazing sausage links too! Adorable decor -- you're inside a little log cabin and it's like being in someone's house! Service was pretty good. I got egg whites, sausage and potatoes. MmmM. BF got stuffed croissant -- FATTY GOODNESS!! So homey and delicious!

I want to start off by saying that our server was really good, sweet and friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. We began this "experience...aka nightmare" when the waitress handed us a lukewarm glass bottle of water (No ice in the glasses or bottle), which we had to pour ourselves. There was a lot of rust from the hinges of the lid that was slightly off-putting and I just wonder if they wash them after every use? We ordered the veggie Benedict with avocado, mushrooms, and tomato on an English muffin. It came in a "boat" type dish, assuming this was to help hide the horrible presentation of what is supposed to be a beautiful stack topped with a poached egg and hollandaise sauce. Apparently they missed this concept because it looked like an animals slop filled feeding trough. The mushrooms were a mistake, it made the entire dish taste dirty, and the English muffin was soggy that there is no absolute way they took the time to toast it. The hollandaise sauce was pretty good, leaps and bounds better than the Old Post Office but not even close to Fire Sign Cafe, that's for sure! We also tried the "Hearty Breakfast" per the servers suggestion. It consisted of 1-2 day old, extremely overcooked (probably several times) sausage, bacon, potatoes, grease, spinach, cheese, and it was topped with grease. The first few bites were pretty good, but once I stirred it around and realized the next bite was actually dripping with grease I completely lost my appetite. I don't even remember what the other people in our group ordered due to the fact that I was so distracted by the grotesque meals that my girlfriend and I were trying to eat. They have a waiting area upstairs (that smells worse than the dining area, believe it or not) which is also where there ONE unisex bathroom is. The trash can lid must be broken because everyone threw their used paper towels on top of it which resulted in a mountain of paper towel wads over flowing onto the floor. The toilet is possibly the only handicap accessible thing about the bathroom and even then it may be too low, really awkward to use... I learned my lesson, Fire Sign is the only place to eat around the lake if you actually enjoy and like food. It's a bit of a drive depending on where you are but that will never stop me again.

Yes, bring your patience as the wait is long the weekends and they do not rush you after you get seated. Even still, we came here 3 times in four days when we were Tahoe. We love the homemade biscuits and gravy, benedicts (you can't go wrong), and they make a good spicy bloody mary. Considering the limited options of quality restaurants in Tahoe, this one is at the top of my list.

Yum! I shared the Arizona French toast- it was crunchy and delicious. I also shared the Cajun Benedict on a croissant, it was the perfect amount of spice.

Log Cabin has great food. We had this nice waitress named Nicole. For my breakfast I had sourdough toast with bacon and eggs and it was delicious. My family and I will definitely come back again. The ice cream shop near the log cabin is awesome.

Really amazing breakfast place although prices are extremely high! Breakfast will run you around $20 pp. I got the tofu scramble with fresh broccoli and cheese $8.99 plus $1.50 for cheese. This was under sides. They ask if you want fresh map,e syrup$2 up charge but it is not heated just comes in plastic individual serving. I read that Rachel Ray stopped here to eat. The place is very cute, and homey inside. Service was extremely friendly too. There usually is a wait on the weekends. So you know the food must be good!

Log Cabin Cafe was voted best breakfast in Tahoe and I can see why! SERVICE: While they do not take reservations, if you call them the same day you want to eat here you can ask to be put on their "list" and you will get priority seating over the walk-ins. Once we arrived at the restaurant we only had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated - and this was on an extremely busy Saturday morning. Our waitress was fast, friendly, and knowledgeable. The service was excellent. FOOD/DRINK: We shared two breakfast items. First we had the Lobster Benedict on croissant. It was an incredible dish - the hollandaise sauce was delicious, the eggs were perfectly cooked, and they did not skimp on the lobster meat. Then we shared the Arizona French Toast which is served with real maple syrup. The french toast is coated in corn flakes and steel cut oats - it is a yummy variation. We also had the house coffee which was fresh and delicious. OVERALL: I would come here again for sure. If you are in Kings Beach and want to try the best breakfast in Tahoe - you must try the Log Cabin Cafe.

During a recent visit to Lake Tahoe, my cousin mentioned that he had passed this place and their sign said "best breakfast in Kings Beach" (or something along those lines. So, we obviously had to judge for ourselves... I absolutely LOVED this place! There was about a 25 minute wait, but it was well worth it! (Plus, there's a cute little Lake Tahoe gift type shop next door you can kill a few minutes in while you wait!) Log Cabin Cafe was just too cute. Great service, nice ambiance, and most importantly, the BEST BREAKFAST I'VE EVER EATEN. Seriously, delicious and absolute perfection. The only sad thing was that we had to leave the next day and didn't have time to eat their before trekking back to the airport. I will most definitely return the next time I'm in the area! You will not be disappointed!

Not impressed at all. Long wait, slow service. The staff seemed stressed and unhappy. The food was plenty but overpriced and moderate at best. Step it up guys!

My family owns a cabin in Incline Village, and we grab breakfast at the Log Cabin every trip. In our five years of eating here, we have always had amazing service and delicious food. My go-to order is the almond waffle with the Mexican hot chocolate (YUM!). If you're going to grab breakfast here, be in the door before 9:30 am. Otherwise, you'll (usually) have a bit of a wait ahead of you. A Tahoe must-eat!

Very enjoyable breakfast in a cute and cozy spot. The hostess was warm and welcoming, offering us a cup of coffee while we waited about 25 minutes on a busy Saturday morning. Our server was nice, efficient, and accommodating. There are so many yummy options for breakfast, but I decided on the Cajun Eggs Benedict (with the help of our server), blackened shrimp in a spicy hollandaise sause. It can be ordered on the traditional English Muffin, a croissant, or on a bed of steamed spinach. Although I nearly opted for the croissant, I chose the spinach and ordered a cup of fruit instead of the potatoes. It was divine, although I should have read the reviews before and asked for the sauce on the side. The hollandaise was wonderful, but just a LOT! The fruit cup was excellent, not the standard unripe melon concoction. It was chock full of fresh fruit and berries. My companion ordered a scramble with onions, tomatoes, and cheese and enjoyed it. The coffee was delicious. Will definitely be back when we visit Tahoe again!

This is a true Tahoe Gem. I recently moved up here full time and have been hunting around for the perfect breakfast spot... And I think I found it here. Arrived at about 10am on a Saturday morning. It was pretty busy, we had a 25 minute wait for two people. Luckily they have a cute waiting room upstairs and after about 20 minutes we got called down for breakfast. Our server was happy, bubbly and very efficient considering how busy it was. On to the food. The Cajun Benedict was AMAZING. Great combo of flavors. My only disappointment was how small the small orange juice was.. Especially for $3

So, so hard to give this 3 stars. So. 5 for the food, and -a million for the service. The service was so bad that I should give it 1 star, but the food was so good that I feel like we've gotta give props to the kitchen. We had just gotten to kings beach after a rainy long drive from Napa, and decided to have breakfast before we checked into our cabin rental. We were seated, and the waitress walked up after a bit and says "Drinks?" Like, literally. We ordered and she just wrote it down and walked away. Uh. Ok. Meanwhile, another server, a young, friendly guy, asks us the same thing and we let him know she took our drink order already, so I'm assuming they don't have table assignments. Too bad. We drew the short straw with this unhappy woman. She comes with our drinks, slides them haphazardly across our table, spilling my wife's mocha, and just walks away again. Comes back and asks what we want. We order, again she doesn't speak, smile, nothing, and walks away. No crap; same thing! She literally TOSSES our plates at us and KEEPS WALKING!!! My wife's food was falling off the plate; strawberries tumbled across the table! We were incredulous!! At that point, we just decided to eat and leave. Then. Sadly, we discovered the food was truly amazing. Like, the stuff of Kings and Queens. Perfect. So. There's that. She never came back after tossing our bill at us, so we just left cash and a crappy tip instead of paying the the card we had sitting out for about 20 minutes. Buh-bye, sad lady. Hope you're attitude and tips improve. Also, despite the glorious food, we will never be back.

It is not only important where you eat and what you eat, but also who you eat your food with. Log Cabin Cafe will be in my mind forever linked with 2 things - a good memory of a really good breakfast and the fact that I will never again eat Eggs Benedict (which used to be my favorite breakfast comfort food). Having a friend who is a scientist can be a blessing and a curse. You will learn a lot of new things, but that also means that you learn things that you wish you never knew. Ignorance is sometimes a bliss. The breakfast started really good, I have announced to my group of friends that I will have Eggs Benedict for breakfast, and surprisingly 3 other friends have joined in. A big mistake. Our friend epidemiologist has given us a brief lecture about how the sauce in the Eggs Benedict is very frequently the cause of food poisonings, but he added cheerfully that he is sure that the sauce in this restaurant is going to be fine. After that everyone suddenly lost appetite for Eggs Benedict and changed their order. I confess that I am a germaphobe and learning something like this is like yelling "is that a duck ?" to someone with Anatidaephobia (a fear of being observed by a duck). To cut the story short, I think that I will never eat Eggs Benedict again (thanks Donal) and I will definitely have breakfast at the Log Cabin Cafe again (preferably alone) ;)

Solid and very popular breakfast spot in kings beach. I tried the hyped Cajun Eggs Benedict and it was certainly delish. It is actually almost over the top...couldn't eat all of it since it was so rich but it was really tasty, so glad to try it. Everyone's dishes looked great and if it weren't for the really long wait (and the fact I live in San Francisco) I'd come here all the time. Ill be back and will be sure to recommend.

I highly highly recommend this place for breakfast! We come here to eat before our day on the mountain every time we are in tahoe! I recommend going early like around when they open or you could be waiting for a good hour before getting a table. If you go around 7:30 though you should have no problem! The lobster eggs Benedict is prob the best thing ever! And there choc chip waffle is to die for!!! Id come to Tahoe just to eat at this place! The staff is also always friendly and very attentive. So they get an A+ in all departments. Great food, nice ambiance and attentive staff. What more could you want?

OMG!!!! We came here based on the rave reviews on Yelp. All the reviews were right on the money! I had Florentine eggs Benedict on their homemade croissant. Yummmm... The hollandaise sauce was deeeelicious.... The breakfast burrito was off the hook. Chocolate chip waffles were awesome! Basically, all the food was great! I don't think you could go wrong ordering anything on the menu!

Probably as good as it gets in Tahoe. Super busy, would definately call in advance to get your name down before driving over. They have a parking lot as well as street parking. Park/Beach near by if you have to kill some time. Decent brunch food - known for their bennedicts. Nothing special though.

I've been here a number of times and always want to come back. Their whole menu is great, but I continually find myself coming back for the Cajun eggs Benedict. The hollandaise is perfect and the shrimp are always cooked right. I get it over a croissant, which I thought would be too rich, but it's not and it works.

Ho, hum, GET IN MY TUM! Long waits-YES Waiting room area with tv and places to sit upstairs-YES Courteous, friendly service, ont he phone and in person? YES Feels like your grandma's house with the air permeated with the smells of sweet hotcakes and bacon? MMMM HHMMM. Will you exit, leaving a trail of delectable food smells trailing behind you and wishing you had ordered something else to go? I know right??? YES. Will you exclaim in your vehicle after eating here, that you are still hungry? YES I haven't had good breakfast like this EVER. While you may see that the wait is long here folks, it is totally worth it. As proof my husband said he overheard another person tell her partner that the wait was so long, and he consequently told her, yea but it is way worth it. There. I had the salmon eggs benedict with a croissant. The sauce was not too thick, served in an oval ramekin over two poached eggs. Soaking up the croissant in the leftover sauce was the best part. The hash browns were little square cut browns with sauteed onions and were cooked to perfection. The kids ordered french toast sticks, and the bacon waffle which was another hit. The husband ordered the cajun eggs benedict and it was like NOLA in your mouth. Our server, Danielle, kept our mimosas clear and to order, and our kids stocked with crayons and coloring paper. What more could a parent ask for I tell ya? Open from 7-2, come early or wait in a long as line, but whatever you do, don't pass this place up if you're int he area. You'll regret it like those people who got out of line tired of waiting for a table. Suckas!!!!!

I had an omelette created my own with bacon sausage fresh spinach, mushrooms bell peppers, tomatoes, cheddar cheese and fresh garlic. AMAZING- The garlic was a nice touch. Bacon thick smokey, sausage fabulous. Home fries could be cooks more . Hubby liked blueberry pancakes. I loved it if I'm in the area will come back.

Adorable, quirky spot with a sweet little garden in the summer. The wait can be long, but you can call ahead and put your name on the list. We had the lemon-poppy seed waffle and chicken fajita scramble. The only drawback is that the server was a bit slow. Our food came out super quickly, though, and so did everyone else's around us.

Bacon. Waffle. No, really... I actually used to go here a lot when I lived up in Truckee, because it's amazing. Thanks to the Rachel Ray show, it's gotten a lot more attention, but it's still a manageable crowd, even on weekends. The waiting room is upstairs, and consists of a few leather couches and a TV for entertainment. Why is the waiting room indoors you ask? Well, my dears, this place *is* in North Lake Tahoe- it's freezing outside. GENIUS! Servers are friendly, laid-back and fast. This round we got two bloody marys, the bacon waffle, and biscuits and gravy. Portions are large, perfect for pre skiing or for a brunch after a big night out at the local clubs. Yes, they have real maple syrup. Do yourself a favor- get the benedict at some point when you come here. Any of the benedicts. Lunch is also delicious. Log cabin is fantastic. Long time local gem, now with a lot more notoriety, well-deserved. In the summer time the patio is glorious.

The food was decent & the place was quaint but it wasn't worth the wait to get a seat. We were told it would take 30 minutes but were finally seated an HOUR later. When we were finally seated we came in knowing what we wanted, but they were out of what my son wanted, out of coffee mugs & out of forks. We got there at 9:30am & were finally served at 11. The server was nice & apologetic & I'm sure had it not been so busy we would've had a better experience, but my advice to anyone would be to call ahead to get put on the wait list. Those people got seated way before we did.

I yelped this place and the reviews were accurate. Awesome little place for breakfast. Staff were friendly. Although a staff member squirted me with the cleaning bottle they did replace my coffee. The food was great. The Chorizo Scrambled and Egg Benedict were a hit.

All I can say is YUM! Very friendly and efficient service and great food. Had one of the specials - eggs benedict over spinach with crispy bacon. Had choice of it being served on an English muffin or croissant which was nice. Super hot and crispy fried potatoes and $5 mimosas. This place makes me smile.

Place is super cute! I ordered the Mexican hot chocolate and o-m-g soooooo good!!! I then ordered the scrambled in with avocado and tomatoes, they were out of their blueberry muffin so I asked if I can have the blueberry bread they use for their French toast instead...done deal! It was amazing! Had to give hubby half bc it was so good...regretted if after bc it was too amazing to share. I asked for fruit in place of the potatoes. My only complaint was my scramble it had a slight weird taste almost like the pan it was cooked in gave it a different flavor. The good part is the avocados were big chunks which was nice to see. Will be back :)

I usually steer clear of the places with signs that state "Guy ate here" since I feel like he would eat anywhere. But, I found this one on yelp. We were staying at Ritz Carlton and I wanted a hearty traditional breakfast. (Which I didn't think was a Ritz thing.) Anyhow, walked up and saw the Rachel Ray ate here sign and got concerned. Maybe due to my Guy theory. We were told 35 minute wait. So, we used that time to walk to the Lake via the boat dock and check of King's beach. By the time we returned we were called a few minutes later. Not too bad. It is very cozy inside. There is one waitress on our side of the restaurant an she was amazing. Got us bloody's right away, which were perfect down to the pickle green bean. I had the Mom's breakfast w/2 eggs your choice (over medium always!) country potatoes bread of your choice (croissant of course) and I added chicken sausage. The eggs were cooked perfectly, croissant was fresh and flakey, potatoes were slightly crispy and sausage wasn't too fatty. The waitress offered hot sauce and brought out a plethora: Pepper plant, Tabasco, Tapatio, Cholula- what every good breakfast spot should do in my book. This place was worth the wait!

The best breakfast spot in all of Tahoe, hands down. I try to get something new every time I visit. This last time I had the Texas style French toast, and it did not disappoint. The boyfriend had the waffle with strawberries and whip cream. The fruit was incredibly fresh. Next time, definitely trying the breakfast burrito. It looked and smelled fantastic.

Cute place. Nice place for having breakfast. Remember to add your name in the waitlist - so call ahead. Service is good, the food is good. Does live upto its name of the best breakfast place. Also, they have alternate options for vegans. Visited last weekend. I had tofu Benedict which was good. Do visit!

Great family style American breakfast place! The Log Cabin Caffe has a very full menu with both the usual breakfast options and some unique ones like the Arizona French toast or chorizo scramble in. The food was solid overall, and the outdoor patio in the back was a nice place to enjoy a late morning brunch.

The Log Cabin Cafe is the best place to have breakfast (especially if you're with a large group). Their pancakes are amazing and the eggs benedict is delish! Every time my family and I are vacationing in North Shore, Lake Tahoe we always hit up the Log Cabin. So delicious and the servers are always very nice. Looking forward to going back in a few weeks!

Ok, from what I could see and smell of it the food was great. However we didn't get any. The hostess (with the broken arm) told us 25 minutes. We were in a hurry and almost didn't wait. After 25 minutes I went to check and she said it would be a lot longer like another 30 minutes. When she took out name it was at the bottom of one sheet of paper, but what we didn't know was there was another whole page of names!!! It was never going to be 25 minutes - it was going to be over an hour. On top of that she didn't tell us we could be seated right away if we didn't mind sharing a table. The people next to us had been waiting even longer only to find out she said she called them and when they didn't answer she crossed them off the list. The while 25 minutes we sat there we didn't hear her call a single name. Apparently they take call ahead reservations for breakfast which is fine but then don't tell other people 25 minutes when it is over an hour. I have been a hostess so I do get it. When the time line slips that badly you tell people maybe offer coffee while waiting, but don't play dumb. I doubt the restaurant cares because they are so busy, but I felt compelled to write this as I found this restaurant off Yelp.

I never planned to write one of those yelp reviews that reviews a restaurant without having eaten there, but sometimes a yelper's got to do, what a yelper's got to do... We tried to go to Log Cabin Cafe recently. The door was wide open. There were no hours posted, but there was a large sign saying "Now Serving Lunch!" It was a few minutes before 2. So we waited for about five minutes at the "Please wait to be seated sign" for some sign of a hostess. Meanwhile, a couple who had arrived a few minutes ahead of us went around the back patio to look for a server unsuccessfully and then returned. The restaurant was at least half full and many diners looked like they were just beginning to eat. Finally, a waitress, a youngish woman with long brown hair walks up to us and barks: "We're CLOSED!" as if we were idiots for supposing that what looks to be a busy open restaurant with an open door was, in fact, open. We all stared blankly at her out of surprise by her rudeness. "We close at 2!" she yelled further. I looked at my watch. It was about 2:03. "Well, maybe you should close your front door," the woman behind me suggested--not impolitely. " WE STILL HAVE CUSTOMERS!!!" the waitress screamed at our backs as we left. I rarely complain about service because I know how hard it is to be a server. But sometimes rudeness is so flagrant I just can't excuse it.

The place is an a-OK place. Very normal food, average quality but pricey for the quality (which is probably why they give you lots of food). I ordered the Egg benedicts and noticed that the sauce was some canned version, slapped on to the eggs. There was way too much gooey, cheap sauce. I also ordered a $3 juice but it was the size of a small champagne glass. We spent $35 for 2 people with 2 dishes and 2 small OJ. The next day, we spent the same amount in buying groceries and had an all out breakfast and lunch, including snacks. Save your money, go to the grocery store near Incline Village. I won't be going back.

It was Saturday morning and the Boyfriend and I were in the mood for some hot breakfast. Not sure what to really look for, we just started to drive around and hope to run into something that stood out to us. I saw this spot. The sign wasn't big, but it had the word "breakfast" on it which caught my attention. We parked at the Kings Beach parking lot and walked over to this spot. Luckily we did, because the parking lot for this place was quite small. The outside of this restaurant looks like a log cabin home (I think it actually was one). When we walked inside, the layout was very much like a home, minus the tables and chairs for seating purposes. We were greeted right away by a tall gentlemen. He seated us, gave us our menus and we started to browse. It took us about 10 minutes to finally decided what we wanted. This is the part that set me off a little. It took them an extra 20 minutes for our waitress to actually come and help us out (actually, I had to tell another waitress that, "we're ready to order" and she had to go grab our waitress for us. That's okay, I'm patient and I will let this one go. Hopefully she can redeem herself). Once she got our orders through, everything well very well after that. She was able to get our orders out very quickly. She smiled when she checked on us from time to time and the food was perfect. The boyfriend ordered some sort of country fried chicken, with potatoes and eggs. I had a modified breakfast: 3 egg whites, bowl of fruit and dried toast with a mimosa. I was surprise of how large the portion was for only 3 egg whites (perhaps they gave me more than three?). The bowl of fruit was a large portion as well and what's this -bananas! I loved my breakfast. The Boyfriend's breakfast was good too (I helped myself to his potatoes =)). At the end, it all went very well. Not bad for our first time there. I definitely would come back the next time I'm back in town.

WE LOVE THIS PLACE. The breakfast is awesome. There are so many options and specials on the board out front. Hard to decide what to get because you want to try it all!! The portions are incredible. We got pancakes, Bacon & Cheese omelet, Fajita Scramble, Eggs Benedict, Coffee & Juice. We got super quick service! Our server (Emily) was outstanding. This place has such a cozy cabin feel to it! We will be back!!

This place is a little pricey for most people for breakfast, but is is WORTH IT. I had the pancake breakfast today, eggs perfect, bacon-OMG perfectly crisp-very rare that I like bacon from a restaurant but they got me! And the pancakes....please get them you won't regret it. I pushed the butter off and used only a tiny bit of syrup, amazing all on their own! I've never seen crispy edges achieved at a restaurant before. YUM

Beware of 'call ahead policy!" We showed up not knowing and were happy to see a party of two ahead of us. However when the hostess took our name , we saw eight names ahead of us and the wait would be thirty minutes! We asked where these people were waiting and were told "they called ahead." We left and went down the street to Spindleshanks. Great food, no wait and no call ahead policy.

Everything I've had here has been pretty good. Love the blueberry pancakes that comes with a ton of blueberries. French toast is also very good. My daughter loves the waffles. Make sure to ask for whipped cream on the waffles for your kids. They have a half dozen different eggs benny. I've tried half of them, and all are good. They do offer the eggs benny with the option of a croissant instead of the english muffin, but stick with the english muffin; the croissants they use are not the best. The one thing I don't really like are the potatoes, which are not very flavorful, and on the most recent trip were a little undercooked. Undercooked potatoes is a definite sin in any restaurant.

  • Susie G.

Breakfast is just ok--nothing spectacular. Food was average, although there were several benedict choices. Service was slow with coffee refills few and far between. Staff were hustiling, but not enough people to serve the guests. Although there are few options in the Tahoe basin, don't think we'll return.

Eaten here many times, food is good but service sucks. The wait is not the biggest issue here. The staff at times are rude and maybe over worked, seems most are young with an attitude. No management on site, just owners who should not be in the service industry. If your not in a hurry and don't mind rude service, probably best breakfast at Kings Beach

i've only been here once but so far so good! i had a crab cake benedict which was everything i hoped for. they also have a vegan sautee for breakfast (basically tofu as eggs). according to my vegan friend this is the only place close by-ish in north lake to offer this. so that's good. good bloody mary's!

We were in the area, saw this place, checked it real quick on Yelp and went for it. Not disappointed in the least. Waffling between 3 and 4 stars. Decided on 4 because "Yes, we'll go here again. Definite fans." Arrived around noon on a Friday and knew we'd have a choice between breakfast and lunch. Surprisingly, it looked like we were right in between the lunch & breakfast crowds. We were greeted warmly and seated right away. Cozy table for two. Liked the comfy cabin atmosphere. Felt just right for where we were. Service was efficient & helpful. Great recommendations. We both decided on breakfast. I went for their signature Cajun shrimp eggs Benedict. Very tasty. Wife had the Big Lou which she also said was very good. Not a place I'd make a special trip out of my way to dine at...I wouldn't drive from South Shore or Reno....but if you are in the area and the mood hits you for a good solid breakfast, the Log Cabin Cafe needs to be on your radar.

I almost gave it 3 stars because the young hostess was awful- but the excellent wait staff made up for her grumpy air headed attitude. It's a busy place. If in a hurry- call ahead. They don't do reservations but they do have a pre-call list. The food was great. It's breakfast stuff. I had the eggs Benedict. Delicious. I'm picky on my hollandaise sauce so if I like it, it means its good! My kids all were happy with their selections.

Amazing local breakfast place. A perfect little log cabin from with best food in north tahoe. Very friendly servers. I visited Tahoe for a vacation and this was a perfect starter. You can not leave without having their Arizona french toast with homemade vanilla custard.

It is hard to find a good breakfast in North East Lake Tahoe. The log Cabin is the best available breakfast in the area. The smoked salmon scrambled eggs are pretty good. The eggs benedict are pretty good too. The pancakes are decent. The only downside on the pancakes is that they charge an extra $2.50 for maple syrup. The pancakes are not cheap to start with. But overall it is the best breakfast in the area and you will leave satisfied.

This place sucks.. From the food to the service. I've given them many opportunities to prove me wrong but every time I go I leave disappointed, even upset. I'm pretty laid back and not picky so it's hard to achieve such a low review from me. I'd much rather go to the Kjngs Cafe right down the street where the food is always awesome and the service is even better! If you're looking for a place to sit down w the family and take your time check out the Old Post Office a few miles down in Tahoe Vista.

We stopped for breakfast on our last morning in the area for vacation. It was later, after 9a, but the place was packed for a Monday! There were eight of us and the table was a tight fit, not alot of room ON the table either with all of us. I limit my carbs and was disappointed to find there wasn't a "meat breakfast" like at most places with ham, bacon and sausage plus some toast or something similar so I had to get an order of bacon and country potatoes and only have half of the potatoes. I wasn't impressed with the food, maybe the other dishes are better as well as the lunch options.

Delicious scramble in with mushrooms and spinach, and yummy blueberry muffin. Quaint and cozy on a cloudy day.

Funky little old house along the main road around the lake. Good Breakfast, Excellent Service, Bad Coffee (old time style coffee, think Folgers). Even though I like a good strong cuppa in the morning, I would still go to the Log Cabin for the service and the food. This place is small so get there early or you will have to wait a bit for your breaky!

There was a 30 minute wait but David in his infinite wisdom said lets wait and talk flipping. Sure glad we did. Eggcellent breakfast. Best pancakes and sausage I've ever had. Coffee and eggs benedict are top notch also.

Two words..... Lobster Benedict! Chunky, sweet lumps of lobster, incredible Hollandaise, crispy home fried potatoes, oh Lord, what a spread! You see? One stop in the right place brings delightful surprises, and Log Cabin is the right place. My husband and I enjoyed our breakfast in this lil quaint cafe, making plans to stop in again in a few weeks, another great reason to head to Lake Tahoe. Enjoyyyyyy....

Service was terrible. We arrived about 7:50 am on a Saturday and they were really unprepared to serve customers. We had to wait 10 minutes to be seated, and once seated another 10 minutes before anyone offered us menus and coffee. The full staff did not show up until about 8:20. Once it finally arrived, the food was good but warm and not hot. The eggs were good but the potatoes awful. Will never return to this place. Recommend avoid

Great breakfast spot on North Tahoe. Living in T.C. The Log Cabin is a nice change from what we have in town (firesign cafe, roise's, etc.) Everything looks great, and they have some wonderful specials. I've had the pumpkin waffles ( seasonal special) and the French toast, where by my bf loves the lobster Benedict. The potatoes are great! Only bummer is the house coffee; not very good at all. But when it comes to food you will not be disappointed.

First timer this past weekend. We were seated quickly on a busy Saturday morning for breakfast. The place is small and bustling but Our short wait was spent in the cozy upstairs waiting room. Our server was sweet and attentive. Their Benedicts!! So delicious. I got the crab cake Benedict and added tomato and avocado. Best Benedict I've had in a while. The homemade crab cakes were juicy. We also got the green eggs and ham (pesto and ham scrambled eggs on their specials menu that day). Delicious and rich. The breakfast potatoes were wonderfully seasoned. We will be back.

This place has awesome eggs benedict. We loved the lobster benedict and cajun shrimp benedict. The breakfast burrito is really good... but enough food to last you through the day. Pancakes were ok... but nothing out of the ordinary. Would recommend calling in before arriving to put your name on a wait list. That will save you considerable time.

Omgosh this place is amazing!! The pumpkin waffles with their vanilla custard are to die for. And I don't know how they make their eggs so stinking good but yummmmmny!!

My husband and I first came here on our honeymoon 3 years ago and fell in love and ate there two mornings in a row. Now we are back for vacation and the first thing we both said was "Log Cabin for breakfast tomorrow!" We ate here two mornings in a row again. Had their Blueberry Pancake special and it was the best pancakes I've ever had. Giant portion. Husband had Green Eggs and Ham and he ate every last bite. Best breakfast we have had in our 3 years together.

Loved this place! Had breakfast here this morning and I'll definitely be returning. I had cajun eggs benedict and my friend had biscuits and gravy. The decor is festive and cabin'y, which I loved. It's clean and the service is quick and friendly. They also let you call ahead and put in your name, which is a great time saver. Can't wait to try more on the menu!

Eggs Benedict is the real deal. Hollandaise made fresh- not goopy. Call ahead to get your name on the list and avoid a wait!

This place is awful. As a Tahoe local, we once again decided to give it a try. Coffee is $3.25 and watered down - she forgot to offer a refill. Hollandaise is bland as can be and the food was lukewarm at best....they weren't even busy. Even worse than the food was the waitress spraying down the table next to us with chemicals to clean it while we were eating and then to top it off when she placed the silverware on the table she had her fingers all over the spoon and the tines of the fork. Gross - don't bother with this filthy place.

Food okay (at best), service HORRID. My husband and I live in Incline and were hitting Log Cabin for a late afternoon breakfast on a rainy day. There were only two other tables occupied, so we were seated quickly. We had some questions about the different dishes, which were met with very short, impatient replies. Oh well - food was ordered, so we shrugged her rudeness off. Food arrived. As the waitress set our dishes down she asked, "anything else?". My husband replied, "yeah, could I get the croissant?" (he'd ordered a croissant instead of toast). Without a response, she walked away and proceeded to make fun of our request for the croissant with the kitchen staff, speaking in spanish because she assumed we could not understand (mistake on her ignorant part...). I ordered the special, which she had proclaimed was spicy and delicious. It arrived and was anything but. I set it aside and shared my husband's plate. Never once did she ask how our food was despite the fact that we left an entire plate sitting there with only a few bites removed. I'd like to think that the owner would pay attention to complaints about service. However, after reading numerous complaints on yelp about the same thing, and then experiencing it for myself, I'll assume that nothing will ever change and will just find somewhere else to go. In this economy, there are plenty of other places who'll accept our business. Adios, Log Cabin Cafe.

tip: call ahead seating. also, if you have to wait, there's a cozy-ish area upstairs with couches and whatnot so that you aren't the creepy person watching everybody eat as you hungrily wait for your table. great breakfast foods! first, i got the mexican hot chocolate which had a slight kick to it as well as a cinnamony flavor. great for the snowy season. my friend and i shared the cajun shrimp benedict and a waffle of some sort, but i can't quite remember what toppings we'd had. everything was really tasty and the portions were hearty. the cajun shrimp benedict was much better than i thought it would be. it had just enough of the cajun seasonings in the hollandaise. any time i'm in tahoe i'm going to make it a point to go to Log Cabin Cafe.

What's not to love here? We started with some fresh squeezed OJ and coffee which hit the spot. We followed it up with the poached veggie eggs, and a chorizo scramble. Definitely recommend sitting outside in the courtyard if it's summer as you sit amongst towering pine trees. I couldn't give 5 stars only because the inside seating is incredibly stuffy. Not a deal breaker though as the food is amazing. Pros Great food Reasonable prices Awesome patio Cons Stuffy inside restaurant This place is a must do for breakfast or lunch when in North lake!

If I could give it minus stars, I would. Check the grease trap on the side of this place. If this happened in my town, this place would be closed by the health department. Disgusting and unsanitary.

Little bit of a wait but liked the waiting room upstairs. The service was very fast once we got to the table, and the menu was full of interesting flavor combos like cranberry orange waffles. I thought the food was bland though but not bad. Would return

Yummy chicken fried steak and eggs. Kids loved the Mickey Mouse pancakes, Wife enjoyed the traditional, eggs, ham, and potatoes. No complaints, we will be back. We did call ahead as it was Saturday morning, but we went at 7:45am and had no wait.

Docked a star for the blazing heat inside. Don't go on a hot day. You will fry. And despite asking for hollandaise sauce on the side, it came slathered on top. I didn't have the heart to send it back because 1. it would take too long to have it remade and I didn't want to sit in the heat and 2. it seemed petty to send it back so I scooped the excessive goop off and ate the dang thing. Would I be back? Maybe in the winter when it's cold.

Don't let the Rachael Ray sign in the window fool you. This isn't worth the hype and nearly was a COMPLETE WASTE OF OUR TIME AND MONEY. Don't be surprised if you need to wait for a table. We waited a reasonable 15 minutes and were pleasantly surprised by the comfortable waiting room on the second floor. Try not to pay any attention to the bathroom line that winds through the waiting room. Since there's only one bathroom for all of the guests, I'm guessing this is the reason why they haven't converted the waiting room into additional seating. We were disappointed with the wait staff. Kayla (?) was our server and disappeared for 15 minutes after giving us menus. Seriously? No coffee run? No, "do you have any questions about the menu?" And certainly no, "what can I get for you?" After waiting, ordering, and then waiting again, our breakfast arrived. As we started to dig-in, Kayla returned long enough to sling the bill across the table sending us a not-so-subtle "leave as soon as possible." Like that, she was gone. Our food was very hit-or-miss. The Cajun Eggs Benedict was pretty good but all of the food looked like it was prepared with ingredients from the discount aisle from the local grocery store. The croissant was dried out and tasted more like a hot dog bun than a croissant. There must have been a bread crisis overnight because the English Muffin in the Benedict was similarly wimpy. The insult that seemed to punctuate the experience was the bacon. Yes, the bacon! I've never seen scrawnier bacon from a restaurant in my life. And thus, their inability to serve a satisfactory piece of bacon condemns this establishment to the outermost layer of Dante's Inferno (of restaurants). We would never go there again, nor would we recommend this place to our friends, let alone our enemies. We had to laugh at the experience. That was the only way to maintain our sanity. As we left, we wondered why a cup of regular coffee would cost $3.25. If they make 12 cups of coffee per brew then each pot of coffee nets $40... Seriously?! Even Starbucks doesn't charge $3.25 for a small cup of regular coffee. Ah well, this is what we get for believing in the hype. Don't be the next fool.

This was a recommendation from a local. Very good. We had a group of 8 and everyone of us enjoyed it very much. They have an awesome patio for outside dining. The Arizona French toast was delicious, but I tried a bit from everyone's plates and it was all yummy! Mexican hot chocolate is so good! I don't think you can go wrong at this place. The service was great!

Food I love under one roof - breakfast and ice cream place! Different kinds of eggs Benedict actually worked. My hubby had chilli relleno eggs Benedict while I had lobster eggs Benedict. Just the right amount of portioning too - not too gigantic, just right. If you still have room for ice cream, they serve different flavors and give you a hefty portion. The downside to this place is they don't take reservations but do allow call aheads, and they get really busy; no ac inside so a table outside is convenient. Be prepared for long waits if you have to be at this place.

My boyfriend and I went to try it out on Labor Day because we had heard great things about this place. Of course it was busy because it was a holiday weekend but that is not a good enough excuse to receive horrible service. We got there about 20 minutes before closing. We requested to be seated outside. There was a wait but the hostess didn't say how long. After she took our name we went out front to wait to be seated. Other guests kept trying to get a table but by then the restaurant was closed and they were turned away. We didn't think anything of it because she confirmed that we were waiting and I watched her put our name on the waiting list. At 45 minutes of waiting and watching the place clear out I decided to check the status of our table. I first spoke to a gentleman and he kept asking me if I was sure I was waiting, almost making me feel like I didn't know what I was talking about. Finally he got the hostess and she too started questioning me like it was my mistake. She finally opened the log book and sure enough my name was on it like I said. Then she started back peddling saying someone else claimed our name, however, we were upfront the whole time and our name was never called and our name was the only name not crossed off. Don't make up stories just admit your mistake. I get it, people make mistakes but nothing was done to make it up to us except her saying "sorry the kitchen is closed now"....horrible customer service.

hit this spot for some breakfast one morning. looks very rustic like most of the older locations in tahoe. has artist made quilts on walls for purchase looks like areal log cabin inside and out. small place had to wait about 10-15 minutes for a table. a little pricey as are most things up here are. food was pretty good. the only complaint i had was i ordered a glass of orange juice and when she brought it to the table i thought it was a joke. it looked like a very small vase, it had about 2 sips of juice in it. my son ordered a hot chocalate, same price and there was so much all three of us shared it and took the rest to go. service was good

This review is solely on the ice cream. The girls and I decided we would look for an ice cream shop in Tahoe and thinking Log Cabin Cafe and Ice cream, we went in there assuming it was a mom's and pop's ice cream shop and that they made their ice cream in house, but it turned out to be freezer burned dryers ice cream. It was expensive and not good at all. They don't even make fresh waffle cones there. Parking is bad too!

Food is excellent, service is slow if I owned the place I would beef up the kitchen staff and churn out the food faster. Nice waiting room on 2nd floor but just amazing that free wifi is not offered in the waiting area. The place needs some tweaking and it could be exceptional.

Cajun Eggs Benedict was fabulous. I am an Eggs Benedict snob, but I am adventurous, so I went for something I have never had; spicy shrimp Eggs Benedict. The Cajun Spice and home made hollandaise was spectacular. You get an option on English muffin or croissant; go with the Croissant! Coffee was tasty and service was impeccable. We called ahead to be safe, but at 1000 on a cool Thursday, we didn't need it. Thanks so much for the recommendation, YELPERS. Come here and enjoy!!!

I got there around 1:30pm, and they were still serving breakfast. I had to try it--come-on, their sign out front says, Best Breakfast at Tahoe, the reviews are mostly 5 stars...why do lunch? :) The place is very cozy and warm. The servers are the same, very pleasant and easy to talk to. I love how they have couches upstairs if you had to wait for a table. On each of the tables, are some drawings. I asked Jesica what is the story behind them. They are from the children that come in with their parents. They would get some paper and crayons for entertainment. Some are selected to be under the glass at all of their tables. I love this, but sad, I didn't get any paper or crayons. :( I ordered the Italian Scramble-Ins, with mushrooms added. I have to tell you, I was very surprised of the portions. The potato chips that came with it were amazing--they put garlic with it!!! Price break down: Italian Scramble-In: $11.99 Added Mushrooms: $1.00 Coffee: $2.75 I do love this place, but again, I am a Log Cabin kind of guy.

Love it! Food was very good, had the breakfast burrito, and it was wonderfully delicious. Only bad thing is, it is a small restaurant with limited room. Very friendly staff, loved the waitresses. Word advice call ahead and add to the waitlist. Will be definitely going back again!!

Best breakfast in Incline Kings beach area. We waited about and hour but the food is incredible! They have a nice large spot up stairs as a waiting area with a TV so it makes the wait time go by faster. The food, I got one of the specials. The Lobster eggs Benedict. So flipping good. So creamy, nice chucks of lobster and fresh dill! Get this if they have it. My boyfriend got the Cajun Benedict and he ate that thing in like 5 minutes no joke. I tried it as well and it was great. I think it may be seasonal but they have hot apple cider with a cinnamon stick. It was so warm and cozy and comforting. Everytime I go to Incline I will come here for breakfast.

The way some people are wine connoisseurs, that's how I am with breakfast. This place reset the bar. The blueberry pancakes had a homemade custard and syrup and were thin the way they're supposed to be. Airy and light and perfect. My partner raved about the traditional Benedict on a croissant. Food needed salt but everything else was perfect, including service. My new favorite in Tahoe and my favorite breakfast place in the world.

WOW! We stumbled onto this place or breakfast a couple of years ago and were SO PLEASED. Comfort food at the height of it's power. I love the Cajun Eggs Benedict and the Bacon Waffles and make sure you get a Mexican Hot Chocolate if you've never had one before. The kids are thrilled with it as well, it's become our go to location for a very special breakfast.

Very busy place as others have noted. The wait wasn't too bad as we had a larger party and large table was available within 5 minutes during breakfast time. It's nice that they have a waiting area upstairs. The food, however, is okay...nothing special and definitely not worth the price we paid. I ordered a Mexican hot chocolate and it did not taste like one, I even had others at the table try it to confirm it wasn't me. The waitress was cool and allowed me to substitute oj instead. The service was good overall, the food is just average. I won't be coming back especially since my m.o. is to only eat truly delicious food when I go out and not just stuff to fill up. If I'm going to pay that much for it, it should be really good.

Whew! What a wait. Do yourself a favor and call ahead to put yourself on the list. If you are lucky your table will be ready when you arrive. Decent food. They love to share that Rachel Ray visited. Very polite staff. A little pricey. Great patio for summer mornings.

I really love this place. My all time favorite is the buttermilk pancakes with vanilla mousse and bananas. This is like dessert for breakfast!! Only wish I could procure the recipe. My second favorite is the Cajun eggs Benedict, with the deliciously spicy Hollandaise sauce. Giving only four stores due my boyfriend's opinion that the breakfast potatoes were too greasy and "soggy." I try to come here every time I'm in North shore. The wait can be long, but you can call ahead and add your name to the wait list, which is awesome.

Had breakfast here this past Wednesday. Can I say AMAZING!!! I had the green eggs and ham which was with Pesto, so full of flavor. My husband had chicken fried steak. The place was packed but our server was great! A table of 21 came in a few minutes before and she made sure to get our order in before theirs so that we wouldn't be held up. We so appreciated it. Great food, great service :)

LOVE LOVE LOVE!! Have been going here since I was a baby! Amazing food and friendly staff. Very warm and home like. Looks like a cabin turned into a restaurant which it probably was. There is usually a wait on the weekends but it is worth it! There is a cute upstairs with couches,TV and board games to make things comfy while you wait and give your kids a place to hangout. If you are in the area and looking for a great breakfast spot this is it! Delicious!

During a road trip through Truckee, I decided to stop in for breakfast at the Log Cabin Cafe on a whim. I read reviews and was intrigued, but did not have this spot on my "MUST TRY" list. But, damn am I glad I gave this spot a chance. Stepping in, my road trip partner and I were seated right away being that it was an off day (Monday) and off hour (1ish). So, walking in, I noticed on the specials board that they offered Peanut Butter Pancakes, and seeing that, I just kinda put it aside and didn't think too much about it. After being seated and looking at the menu, I decided on the Cajun Benedict (written up in a major food magazine as being damn good). Before we ordered, the waitress came by and talked up the Peanut Butter Pancakes... with a twist. She said to try them with chocolate chips and I WAS SOLD! So the food came out, and the Cajun Benedict was good. Tons of shrimp, and the cajun sauce was creamy goodness! The star however, was the Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Pancake, with a side of the house made Vanilla Custard (MUST ORDER FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR CHILDREN!). How else to describe this combination of chocolate chips, peanut butter pancake and vanilla custard than simply: NIRVANA! Log Cabin Cafe is a damn good spot and a must try if you are ever passing near the Kings Beach/Truckee area.

3.5 It's been awhile since I've eaten here, so here's an updated review. PROS: I just had their $9.99 brekkie special with two fat Texas bread French toast, two pieces of crispy bacon, and two eggs over easy. Deeeeeelish and worth it. Waitress was quick on the draw, friendly, and quite nice. CONS: But really, $2.50 for a small cup of decaffe coffee? The decor is still butt ugly (some kid's "art" as a place mat?) and I really hate the parking lot here. Super tight spaces with very little room to squeeze in if it's a busy day. Grrrr.

I was in King's Beach over the weekend for Tough Mudder, and my whole team and I decided to eat there before the event. The food was so good that we had to come back one more time before we left town. I had both the Country Fried Steak and "Chester's" (which is eggs, potatoes, and sausage), and everything was amazing.

Amazingly fast! Big servings of pipping hot food. My husband and I both ordered from the specials and were impressed with the selection. My husband's pineapple muffin was "doughy". Espresso drinks available with soy even! Our food came out so fast I didn't have a chance to drink much of my latte and they brought me a to go cup so I could drink it in the car. Really cute touch - kids' drawings under the glass table tops. Sort of dark inside, if available sit by a window. Parking lot is tight. The bathroom is upstairs, single person house type bathroom with no seat covers. Call ahead to get your name on the list if it is busy. We called as we left our hotel at 9am on a Saturday and there was no wait.

They now (Spring 2012) offer their famous crispy edged - golden brown pancakes for Vegans. After months of coming here and eating their Tofu Surprise and drooling over other customers that ordered their signiture non-vegan pancakes, they now have a Vegan version of their delicious pancakes. (Bring your own vegan butter though!) They also have Vegan sausages links and they are pretty good too! The owners did offer Vegan pancakes in the past but they didn't quite like that recipe so they stopped. Recently, they spent two months perfecting their now current Vegan pancake batter and it is oh so good. They are the only restaurant around Lake Tahoe to offer Vegan pancakes. So order their Vegan Stack, Crispy with no butter. You can't go wrong.

It's all true ; GREAT FOOD ! and if you have more than two, use their recommended call ahead option. Had chili rellano Benedict and special of the day - chilaquiles. Looking forward to another trip and trying some of their other Benedict's.

Cute and cozy place for breakfast/brunch. The wait can get long (my friend and I waited an hour for a table) so I would suggest their call ahead option. I had the cajun benedict. The blackened shrimp was overly spiced and overpowered the rest of the dish which is disappointing because the eggs were perfectly poached and the hollandaise sauce was delicious. The potatoes were soggy and not seasoned very well. I would say it was a decent plate of food though it did not blow me away by any means. I really liked the service and the homey feel to the restaurant though. And they make some damn good espresso. I wouldn't mind coming back the next time I am in Tahoe.

I live by the Log Cabin and there is always a major wait. People milling about waiting for tables. It's ok. At best. The menu looks good and creative, but the actuality is everything is floating on a pool of grease. My friend had a veggie scramble up and it was pure grease. I thought my scrambled eggs with just cheese was mediocre at best. Totally greasy. Like dripping grease. And they don't scramble. It's more like a chopped omelette. I find most restaurants do not take the time to properly cook scrambled eggs anyways. (The proper way to scramble an egg is over low heat with constant stirring, most places ladle their egg mixture in with the ingredients and let them cook over high heat and then chop the mixture at the last minute with their spatula before it is transferred to the plate) The croissants are amazing and remind me of homemade Mexican ones. The service is always friendly. The food is meh. At least the eggs are. And DRIPPING in grease. Not butter. Grease.

We always come back - for the iron skillet pancakes, and my husband loves the breakfast burrito. Great service, always. Often times a wait, but they do offer call ahead seating if you give a ring on your way. We love the Log Cabin Cafe! *It's a super cozy atmosphere, though sometimes it gets a little smokey or greasy inside and we smell like diner afterwards

This is a true "A-OK" as Yelp defines a 3 star. The reviews and waiting situation (thankfully we called ahead) really hyped up my expectations. Overall, it was a decent breakfast experience. I appreciate their novel menu, but I was really against their road-side-ification of the refined Eggs Benedict. Their creative flavors had so much potential, but all lost on supersizing the creamy hollandaise. The more country style plates like pancakes seemed fine. Cajun Eggs Benedict: Ordered this because of the Yelp reviews, the Bon Appetit name dropping and the waitress's recommendation. Definitely had some good flavor, but the presentation arrived as a gooey mess. Loads of red pepper infused hollandaise sauce, I could barely distinguish the eggs from the croissant. The eggs themselves seemed poached correctly as they added some more goo to the collection. The croissant was novel in Benedict, but I think the blander and firmer English muffin would have been a better pairing since the dish was already very rich. The shrimp were shrimpy shrimp, but that would be expected since they were explicitly called out as Bay Shrimp on the menu. Might have been better with more traditional sized shrimp like you'd get on a po' boy. Buttermilk Griddle Cakes: Large and thin and fluffy. Got these right.

Unlike most posts you will read....we did not have any wait at all. Course, it's an off-peak month (October). My son enjoyed a breakfast burrito, and I tried the smoked salmon salad. Both choices were delish! I would've like to have some bread with my salad, unfortunately they don't include/offer any. The only thing close was a croissant for an additional $2.99 :-( I must say, their ice tea was some of the best around...It was definitely fresh. The reason I didn't give them 5stars was due to the noise & very loud chatter coming from the kitchen. It certainly wasn't necessary, and was tough to try & have a conversation

Le t me start out by saying that the artwork at this establishment is regrettable. I'm not sure who is in charge of the selection process but the crayon drawings at our table were some of the worst I have ever seen. Sally J, 9 has no idea how to use perspective lines and Hayden, 8 must be colorblind because black and navy don't go well together. When I asked for crayons and paper to add to, or at least fix some of these "drawings" the very nice waitress chuckled at my request. Seeing as I am a grown adult male (with a beard) I was too embarrassed to ask a second time as she must of thought I was joking. I was not joking. If you're just interested in delicious food with great portions then Log Cabin cafe is the place to go. If you're looking to find children that know how to color inside the lines I would suggest you go elsewhere.

This place is great with consistently delicious food and really wonderful service. Everyone is so friendly. It's great if you have a baby/toddler as they put a "drop cloth" under the highchair so you don't have to feel bad if your baby loses part of his meal on the floor. That really makes for a relaxing experience for parents. This may be a weird thing to acknowledge, but it really made a big difference to me. Make sure to call ahead to get on the list.

If you wake up hungry up around King's Beach in North Lake Tahoe, this is the place for you. Everything is good. Portions are generous. Service is spot on. Coffee is bold. I always go with the breakfast burrito but since the girls never seem to be able to finish their plates, I've more than sampled the full menu. It can be a bit warm inside, which is good for a lot of people who aren't used to the cool morning in Tahoe, but I prefer to sit on the patio located in the rear of the building. Around lunch-time, they open their ice-cream stand - so there you go. I always take my friends here whom haven't been, and they are always impressed. So impress your friends and live a little. YUM! Oh yeah, the wait is long, so here's the trick - CALL IN!

Can't think of a better place near Incline Village, LakeTahoe for breakfast/brunch. Extremely busy, and for good reason. Lots of different varieties of eggs benedict. Cozy atmosphere with excellent service. A must dine-in any time I'm up there.

Wow. We need this. After a late night Friday, Saturday brunch was amazing. I would drive back specifically for the blueberry french toast -- it's made with blueberry bread! Since I won't be in Tahoe anytime soon, will have to figure how to make it at home. Fresh OJ, bacon and Cajun eggs Benedict. Delicious. Tip: Call a head! We waited 30+ min. But well worth the wait.

We tried this place twice: First time - 9 AM on a Sunday morning. Wait was off the hook long so we opted to try something else as we had other things to do and couldn't be bothered waiting 45 minutes. I see now from other reviews the strategy is to call ahead for a table or hang out in an upstairs room (??) We were not offered that option so not sure what that is all about. Second time - 11 AM on a Sunday morning. Place was nearly empty (what a difference the time makes!) We were seated quickly. Waitress was friendly. Menu is extensive. I was lured by their 'bon appetit' cajun eggs benny. Waitress advised ordering it with the muffins not the croissant. She stated, as others have noted, that the croissant gets soggy. Hubby had a traditional eggs benny. They were 'okay'. I have had better. I didn't particularly think that the cajun description was very fitting - other than a few shrimps and some hot pepper... Definitely a good breakfast spot, decent to good food.

I think this has the best breakfast/brunch in the Tahoe area (north shore, anyway). My favorite is the Cajun Benedict (blackened shrimp with spicy hollandaise) over a croissant. The kids love chocolate chip pancakes (you have to ask - they aren't on the menu even though chocolate chip waffles are). Only negative is the inevitable wait. We waited for almost an hour on a non-weekend (though it was winter break). For a great treat, try their Mexican hot chocolate. It is to die for.

I would definitely go here again if I were in the area. Their are too many choices on the menu! I got a scramble with sun dried tomato and bacon. Delicious but way too much! My fiance ordered the lobster scramble and I really wish I had too- I almost did! This was amazing. I would recommend that with a hot chocolate. Yummy! Hopefully you can take home leftovers, otherwise, you may want to share. Only complaint is that I was not thrilled with the muffin- didn't seem very fresh, was kinda weak. Croissant is a better choice.

Recommend the biscuits and gravy special. Hearty and Tasty. Will return again. Want to try the smoked salmon scramble next time. Service was friendly and efficient. Good for Kids. Might be a little too tight for large parties.

We had been invited by friends to stay with them in their cabin for the weekend, so we wanted to treat them to a yummy breakfast. They suggested Log Cabin Cafe so away we went. The first thing I noticed is it was very crowded (good sign!). While we didn't wait too long, we could have sat down a lot sooner if the hostesses would have been on the ball. We were thinking, "How many people does it take to push two tables together?" If I was from the area, I would have done it myself. Thankfully, that was the only negative. Our food came out quickly and it tasted delicious. My plate consisted of two scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes and an obviously fresh croissant. My husband got the chorizo breakfast burrito which also came with potatoes. Although the menu said "you best be hungry" if you order this, of course he finished it all. That's my hubby! For four adults (and one child who had a side of bacon and an orange juice), the total with tax and tip came out to be $65. Kinda pricey for breakfast but my belly will tell you it's worth it!

My wife and I go OUT OF OUR WAY to eat here. The Waffles with the cream/custard topping and strawberries is hands down the best waffle I have ever had. It's worth the trip up from Sacramento to eat there. Awesome place - highly recommended.

Food is good. Choice is overwhelming. Stood around waiting to be seated for a while... And the were about half way thru when the check was slapped on the table "no hurry" while being said didn't appear to be meant...

Two plain burgers, one glass of milk, one order of fries.....$26. The waitress was very sorry the service was so slow. The burgers were pre-formed and tasteless. The fries were great. Overpriced and boring. Can't wait to go somewhere else.

Having worked in food service for 29 years, I have a lot of patience and sympathy for people working in a busy place. But there is no excuse for keeping a party of kids and elderly, or anyone for that matter, waiting an hour next to an empty table while the hostess called "Davis party of six," waited ten minutes for them, no show, then "Williams party of seven" obviously not there, then 20 minutes later tells me a large party is maybe coming and they're holding the table in case they come, which they never did. Meanwhile, many people stand around, actual people, getting irritated and leaving while the table sits empty. The servers were great, and unable to help, saying the hostess was in charge. No manager to help run things. Finally, three large empty tables sit there waiting to be bussed and seated with no employees in sight. Maybe during a busy holiday weekend have a manager, a bit of extra help, a new way of doing things? Sometimes businesses are at money making capacity and have no motivation to improve. Finally sitting, I remembered the same stressful infuriating thing happened last time. But the food was good, although very expensive. I should add that I don't blame the hostess; they have a seemingly nice policy of being able to phone ahead to get a table, but apparently it doesn't work very well (see above), and I have seen over and over again restaurants that have hostesses that are the lowest paid, least experienced (else they would be servers making tip$, or managers making higher wage$) in charge of the floor. I think this is because it seems like a simple job, but it's not for everyone, and management understandably want a young, attractive person greeting people.

I woke up early to get here to carb up before hitting the slopes at Northstar. I liked the rustic log cabin feel as you walked in. There were may be two other customers besides me but it took a few minutes too long to get my order taken, I suspected it might have been because it was early in the morning and snowing outside. I had Eggs with Sausage, Potatoes, and Muffin. The eggs were large, the sausages were good size, the potatoes could be a little crispier, and the muffin was yummy. Overall, great breakfast place.

We love Log Cabin. Have been coming here for years. The only down side is that the wait can be horrible. So come early, or send a couple of people ahead of time to do the waiting. I've never had anything I didn't like.

Another over-rated, over-priced, rip off restaurant in Tahoe. We have a house in Tahoe and for years I have heard about how great this place was. Dirty, bad service, way overpriced. $15 for chicken fried steak and eggs. Where am I, at the Ritz Carlton ? I am at some filthy dump. Hamburger is $10 and $2 more if you want fries ? Food is just ok and not worth anything close to the price. Go somewhere else.

I'm a big fan of the log cabin cafe and it has become my go to spot when staying North Shore for breakfast. They can have quite a wait on Sunday mornings, so I recommend calling ahead and getting your name on the list. Beware, this will piss off the people that have been waiting for 20+ minutes when you show up, wait two minutes, and then get your name called, but it is their fault for not calling ahead! I have always gotten lucky and found a spot in their small private parking lot, but I have seen others having difficulties finding a spot. I like the living room of a waiting room they have upstairs. Newspaper, magazines and a television on, it is like an uncomfortable family reunion, except you don't know anybody! I don't think they have a bad meal here. I've tasted the Cajun Eggs Benedict, Big Lou, Bacon Waffle and Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict. I wouldn't recommend the salmon benedict, not that it was bad, but just because if you are going down that road, the cajun benedict is so much better. It is baby shrimp with cajun holandaise and poached egg. I recommend you get the croissant instead of the english muffin with any benedict. Bacon waffle was one of the best I've had to date. Really good bacon well incorporated into the tasty waffle batter. Big Lou is like a messy breakfast sandwich on a croissant. Did I mention how good their croissants are? The coffee is also quite strong and rather tasty. I had espresso and was also satisfied. You can go nuts and get a milkshake or get some hot apple cider with a cinnamon stick. All nice touches. Not the cheapest breakfast in the world, but for the quality and how crowded they are, it isn't too bad. You'll get out the door for around $16/person if you each get a drink. See you next weekend~!

I have to go with three stars instead of four because it only took forever for everything to happen there. We called ahead to get an estimate for a group of seven during a pretty slow time of year in Tahoe; the restaurant said they had their lunch rush and it would be about a 30 minute wait. We got there and put our names in and they confirmed it would be around 30 minutes when they would have a table for us. It actually ended up being 1 hour waiting in the upstairs room-- thank goodness for the iphone and their TV upstairs! We sat down, got our orders in fairly quickly and then we waited, and we waited, and then we waited-- and then, our drinks arrived. And then we waited, and we waited and we waited and then our food arrived. It was very good and I enjoyed every bite of it but I think it was extra good because I was extra hungry! The prices were slightly marked up, but for a vacation town, we expected that. Overall, all of our breakfast selections were very good-- I loved my lobster benedict and would happily go back and have it again-- I'll just make sure that I take a granola bar to snack on while I wait or get there when they open so that I know I can get a seat quickly.

Best place for Breakfast in the North Shore area. We have been coming here for years, and it is always good. Our favorites are the Eggs Benedict, Arizona French Toast, and Chocolate Chip Waffles. Everything is great, and it is our MUST stop when in Kings Beach in the summer. It is always very busy, so be patient. It is worth the wait.

The wait is not worth it. The food is regular, but not bad, don't get me wrong there. It's just where you can find all the Bay area people on the weekend. OPO is a better choice for breakfast.

I own a vacation home in Kings Beach and often have to come up to the house to do, ummm., maintenance. Every time I'm up, I have what I consider to be the star of the menu, "Hearty Potatoes" (when I order, I always ask for "Awesome Potatoes"; the waitress knows what I mean). This dish consists of, approximately, equal parts protein and potatoes. The potatoes are a saute, sort of like the best hash browns you've ever had (as a Texan friend of mine once put it), and the protein includes sliced breakfast link sausages and bacon. Oh, yeah, there's sauteed sliced onions and spinach also. I used to order scrambled eggs here, but since I like my eggs soft and because they never seemed to get it right, I experimented and took a chance on the potatoes. Glad I did! I'm up there right now, just having had my potatoes and I'm off for a bike ride to Tahoe City (gotta burn off those carbs somehow!).

My most favorite thing/place in the world is North Lake Tahoe and my 2nd most favorite thing in the world is food! I called ahead to see if they accepted credit cards as most places in N. Tahoe don't and they do and the hostess was nice enough to ask if we wanted to put our name (party of 4) on the waiting list...an added bonus as the wait time was 45 minutes! By the time we arrived they were calling our names...double bonus, no wait time! We sat down to be welcomed by our server with a personality of a wet mop! She was less than pleased to be serving us and we thought whatever we were happy to be eating breakfast and happy to not have waited in line! When she came back to take our orders they were out of what I wanted (sausage!), so I had to order something else. When she brought back the food (I asked for egg whites) it was wrong. When I asked if they were egg whites she said yes when they were clearly yellow. I just simply looked at them, she took them away from me, then brought me back white eggs about 10 minutes later. I then had to ask her 5 minutes later for the fruit cup that I ordered. While the food was great it was less than a pain in the ass to to get it, the server was a jerk and the bill for the 4 of us to eat breakfast was $80.00! I normally wouldn't complain as it is Tahoe, but wasn't at all worth the hassle of dealing with her personality! If you go here expect good food, once you get it, and bad service. Bring your wallet and your patience!

Five of us. Everything from scambles to burrito to pancakes. Everyone thought the food was great (okay, eldest daughter forgot to tell them to hold the tomatos, so she wasn't thrilled about that part, but that wasn't the restaurant's fault). Inside is quaint. Not amazing, but works just fine. Service was so-so. Waitress was nice, but they were clearly overmatched with the number of tables per waitress. Overall, breakfast is great here and worth going.

  • Nora T.

Came here with a party of 6. The service was absolutely terrible: not only were we waiting outside (in the cold) for over an hour for our food, they got 3 of the 6 orders wrong. As far as the food goes, the orders that were correct were good--but not "best breakfast in Tahoe" good. The orders they messed up in the first place were bad. At least the server was chipper... The one diamond in the rough was the Mexican hot chocolate--it was delicious--but even that took a half hour to come out. They should improve the service... or make the food worth the wait.

The best breakfast spot in the area...I had the veggie eggs benedict and I finished everything off my plate. The service was great but a long wait which is expected when your known for great breakfast. It was a full house when we got there but figured it would be worth it. This was my pit stop to carb up just before hitting the slopes at Northstar.

A great breakfast spot. Highly recommend the Denver Scramble, Cajun Eggs Benedict and Corned beef hash. The Mexican hot chocolate was also great. TIP: Call before you leave your house to get on their wait list. Otherwise, the wait time could be up to 1 hour on a busy day.

My husband and I stopped for breakfast, and it wasn't crowded at all due to late season (Oct). The pancakes and waffles were great, and the coffee kept coming. Only two downfalls...I ordered milk instead of the chemical creamers for our coffee and was charged for it...that's a first time that a restaurant has ever charged for that. It was also a bit pricey for what we were served...two people and breakfast was over $30.

Walking in , the "waiting area" was very crowded -- a good sign in my opinion! We put our name in, and waited outside since there wasn't any room inside. We found out later there is a waiting area upstairs, so if we go back that's a good thing to know. When we got our table, the menu was awesome, lots of good things to try and fun specials and I'm a huge fan of the bacon waffle so I had to try theirs. My friend got an egg white scramble. Second time around, I got the Cajun Eggs Benedict. ... by far the best thing I've had there so far. A solid choice! Food was AWESOME, orange juice good, coffee good. My only suggestion would be that they need to get their exhaust fan fixed in the kitchen as it filled the entire restaurant with smoke to the point where they opened all the windows and I had a hard time breathing. But overall it's going to probably be my new favorite breakfast spot as there are so many things on the menu that I want to go back and try.

Maybe I ordered the wrong thing but I ordered the chicken fajita scramble and it was disgusting! The cheese wasn't even melted and the chicken was weird. Everyone else at my table seemed to like what they ordered which were pancakes and other omelets. The thing that annoyed me was that when the waitress brought out my tea it was cold...not once...but twice! I had to send it back twice so I could get hot water. Yuck! So annoying! I wouldn't come back here!

Nice cabin atmosphere with decent breakfast food. This place is very popular. I came on President's Day at 11am and was told that the wait would be 45m to an hour long! I didnt feel like waiting, but, intruigued by the popularity and warm atmosphere, came back the next day (a work day) and was seated right away. Ordered goat cheese omelet from specials menu. The food is all natural and, they say, organic when they can. I enjoyed the omelet, but thought it was a bit heavy with the cheese and slightly overcooked. Also had coffee, which was good but costs $3. My friend had a grapefruit juice, also $3, also good not great. The waitress was pleasant and prompt, though she slightly screwed up on order (switched egg-styles). Overall, i enjoyed my meal but would not wait more than 15m in line for it. I learned too late that you can call in to be placed on waiting list. Alternative: The Old Post Office cafe 5m away is comparable in quality, has less hype, and cheaper.

Loved this place. Ate here on Christmas Eve and had the Veggie Eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce was SO good and the griddle cakes were also perfect-- light and buttery, perfectly cooked. The place is cozy and warm and was all decked out for Christmas. Will definitely return on my next trip to Tahoe.

The chocolate chip waffle is phenomenally good: yelp.com/biz_photos/log-… They use bittersweet chocolate chips. Get the upgrade to real maple syrup. The lemon poppy seed waffle is very good. BUT: when ordering any waffle, make sure you ask for it "very crispy and well done," otherwise it will arrive rubbery. Also ask for "whip cream on the side," otherwise it will make the waffle go soggy really fast. The Mexican hot chocolate is very good, with an emphasis on vanilla: yelp.com/biz_photos/log-… It's just a tad too sweet, and could be better with a darker chocolate, but still quite respectable. You can order it with or without the chili pepper. They also totally remodeled the bathroom, but they kept the doll-house-in-a-picture-frame decor: yelp.com/biz_photos/log-…

This is the best Cafe in Tahoe, we are always very happy with our meal. We had 8 in our party this time, we hit the cafe at rush hour and still every meal was served in good time. Smiles all round very hood value for money. Defiantly come here again

Excellent Breakfast. Great service. Cozy environment. One short block from the beach. A little bit pricy but not terrible (For one large belgian waffle with chocolate chips it was $10.95 IIRC). Overall, great quality of food and a true representation of a "Log Cabin" style breakfast. Will definitely make this a regular stop when in the area.

Love this place. Fantastic breakfast food, perfect for the morning after a long day of snowboarding. The servers have always been super nice and the food is outstanding. They have great waffles, pancakes, and scrambles. Last time I went I got this "cinnamon bun tower" or something which was a cinnamon roll sliced in half, cooked french toast style, and then served with a bunch of strawberries and cream. Awesome. Plus I ordered a chocolate milk and the waitress gave me an entire carafe (I guess I looked hungry). Long wait if you get there too late in the morning, but they have some couches and a TV upstairs while you wait. Definitely the best breakfast in North Tahoe. 4.5 stars.

We dined here for breakfast and I found it to be average at best. I had the biscuits and gravy and it was seriously lacking in gravy and in order to get this you had to also get a giant plate of eggs and yucky country potatoes with way too many onions. It did come with two of the biggest breakfast sausages I have ever seen which were pretty impressive and fairly tasty. My husband had country fried steak which was the most greasy I have ever experienced. My son had the eggs benedict and enjoyed it. I did not taste it so cannot comment. We did go here for ice cream a couple times. It was pretty tasty but a tad freezer burned. The marshmallow cream sauce was yummy as I think it had been cooking for too long in the warmer but that gave it a yummy roasted marshmallow taste. My biggest issue is the person scooping the ice cream used her fingers to get the ice cream on the scooper. This was pretty disgusting and unsanitary as at no time did I see her wash her hands before serving us. This happened with my husbands ice cream. Had it happened with mine I would have demanded she give fresh scoops untouched by dirty hands. BLECH! The biggest pain in the ass is the ice cream shop is cash only. Really? Because the restaurant gladly accepted our credit card for our overpriced $70+ breakfast for four. So not worth the money for the breakfast.

When everything from the homestyle decor and a friendly staff are present in a breakfast restuarant located in lake tahoe; the food has to live up. Well the food left my family and I talking about how great it was all the way home. The bacon waffles, chorizo eggs and pancakes are incredible.I haven't eaten great breakfast like this since my visits to Vermont.

UNCLE BEN Would be Proud! On the way home from Lake Tahoe we needed to have our final meal upon departure. The Guru recommended the Log Cabin for breakfast. It did not disappoint at all! I really expected your basic breakfast joint in the mountains, but the Log Cabin is far cry from being ordinary. I'm always a happy when I get good service, and that's how things began. We were greeted with big smiles, and great attitudes (which is always a good sign) so we decided to camp out for the wait. Usually another good sign.. right? At the recommendation of the Guru I chose the Cajun Eggs Benedict, since I like my life a lil on the spicy side. It was awesome.. Wooo Hooo!! What a great combination of flavors melting in my mouth. Grrr yummy! The OJ was really fresh, and the rest of the crew was satisfied as well. FINAL SCORE? Log Cabin Cafe is far from an ordinary breakfast joint! Check it out

We brought out of state guests here based on the reviews here on Yelp, and while the food was good, the wait was quite long for a Thursday late morning. I had scrambled eggs with ham cut up in them, potatoes and sourdough toast, nothing fancy and it was done just right. Hubby had the breakfast burrito and said it was good, but not very spicy. Guest 1 had biscuits and gravy and said it was very good and guest 2 had the veggie eggs Benedict and reported it was very tasty, maybe a little too much Hollandaise sauce for her. All in all, good place for breakfast, but don't be surprised if you have a bit of a wait!

It's a tiny log cabin that serves delicious breakfast - quickly. Eggs Benedict and biscuits and gravy... as simple as it is, my only regret is that I did not stay and eat it again. The space is cozy, and the service is friendly/patient. The menu has lots of Benedicts, multiple choices of hot sauce, biscuits and gravy, scrambles and veggie options. The mimosas didn't look too strong but you should get the Mexican hot chocolate anyway.

Just left the place. They had at least four empty tables and one dirty one; yet, no one came to offer us a table. We were the next on the list and they just ignored us. Was it because we were two guys??? Who knows. They were not paying that much attention to the customers who were already eating either.... So we decided to leave.... They saw us leaving and did nothing. Oh well..... They say they have the best breakfast in the area..... But good food needs to be paired with great service and great environment (AC was off :/

YUMMMMM! This place has amazingly huge omelettes (scrambles) and a surprisingly good cup of coffee. The scramble will run you about $11 but comes with toast and potatoes- so worth it. Call ahead and put your name on the wait list- it just adds your name to the waiting list, not a table ready when you walk in. There is ALWAYS a wait for this place so be sure to call.

Honestly, I was expecting 5's across the board here. I went when it was not crowded and I hear it get's pretty crazy sometimes. I had potato pancakes and applesauce that were CRAZY delicious. The apple topped pancakes were too sweet for me, but were delish. Great sausages - maybe the best I've ever had. The chocolate chip waffle was what you expect, but was done perfectly. The service was A+ answered some hard questions honestly about portion size and was super friendly and nice. Maybe aim for less crowded times if you want food perfection, but I'd be back no matter what the line was.

Veggie eggs Benedict were great. OJ was fresh. Service was ok. We waited 40 minutes and the place was over half un-bussed most of the time. They need to add some staff to speed things up. The plus side of it was the cool, cushy waiting room upstairs. If u come with the expectation of a wait u may actually enjoy some quiet reading time up there. We went again on a weekday because we figured it would be less busy. This time it was less busy (only a quarter of the tables being used and the rest unbussed), but we still had a long wait. We got the chorizo scramble and it was great. Gotta add some hot sauce though. Kudos for small, cardboard to-go boxes.

I was expecting a little coffee house/ice cream parlor setting where i could grab some hot drinks to walk along Kings Beach with. The drinks and food were overpriced. The mocha was watered down and tasted like normal coffee. The hot apple cider with a cinnamon stick tasted like watered down warm apple juice, no cinnamon taste at all. The package mix tastes 10 times better and costs 10 times less. The place does look cute inside though.

Just really good food here. It's a cute little cabin that has a great menu for breakfast and lunch. We've had breakfast here before. The croissants are divine! We got there around closing time and opted for lunch. We were shocked there was no wait! I had a roasted veggie sandwich and my husband had a salmon sandwich. The bread was light and so good. Plan on a wait, but this is a must in Tahoe!

It's cozy, warm....tried the eggs benedict, the lobster one was really good, the veggie one was disappointing, a little too heavy on the sauce and the english muffin was too soggy for my taste...have had better. The chocolate chip waffle was just OK. Their latte was very good though, strong espresso taste.

This is THE place to go for breakfast in North Lake Tahoe! They do breakfast right! Not only do they have a variety of omelettes and scrambles, but they have a wide selection of pancakes, waffles, and and any style eggs benedict you can imagine. You must try the Lobster Scramble and the Baked Apple and Walnut Pancakes. This place was voted Best Breakfast in North Lake Tahoe. And any restaurant that ends with "& Ice Cream" is alright with me!

Log Cabin is the perfect name for this place. It is literally a nice, quaint log cabin. The only problem is that it's really small and cramped inside. This place is so popular during the weekend mornings that a 30 minute wait is almost standard. They have a nice waiting room upstairs, but during the winter season it is usually packed up pretty good. If you don't want to worry about the long, crowded wait I'd suggest either calling ahead or just eating there during the week. Every time I eat at the Log Cabin I know that I am going to get a very appetizing, bomb ass breakfast. Everything on the menu is worthy for your stomach. I always prefer to order off of the specials menu. The Huevos Rancheros and the Loaded Potatoes are freaking awesome! I've never had better huevos rancheros. Rather than corn tortillas they actually give you homemade corn chips and cover them with eggs, beans, cheese, guacamole, sour cream, salsa, jalapeños, etc. It's like having a platter of breakfast nachos! If you're not feeling the specials menu, you can never go wrong with any of their "bitchin" Eggs Benedicts. They are very generous with the portions. You will be full, jolly, and ready for the day's endeavors.

Obviously under new management, so I've retracted my 1-star from 2010. Charming place with varied and new menus of good food and generous portions. If you're a Benedict fan as I am, you will be happy. Several choices including gluten free. I tried that on a bed of sauteed spinach and it was very good, though I'd go with the gluten-free bread, or just a regular muffin next time. Good, tasty hollandaise with lots of lemon, as I like it, but not too much lemon like some.Perfectly poached eggs. Tasty country potatoes with onion. A huge and tasty "Hearty Potatoes" with sausage, spinach, etc.A huge breakfast burrito. Also the best waiting room anywhere. Upstairs is the owner/resident's family room with comfy sofas and and old TV VCR that is a great space to wait.

Came in to North Tahoe area on a fine Saturday morning looking for breakfast. Stumbled in to this place and what a find!!!! We were three people, and we tried the different seafood omelet/Benedict stuff. Totally delicious. IMO the waiting room upstairs should charge cover to get in. It was so good, I made the trip all the way from Carson City the next day in a snowstorm just to have the breakfast.

A tiny place on the shore side of the road. Small parking lot, smally doorway, small tables, however, HUGE taste. I had the crab cake eggs benedict. Outstanding holidaise. The water for table comes in a tall bottle from the exceedingly warm and welcoming staff. Enjoy a cup of "kaleka" coffee from a local roaster.

Pros: Great food, good service Cons: None that I can think of. So I was with my girlfriend's family and we were looking for a place to eat after a couple hours snowmobiling in Tahoe. By this time we were pretty hungry so we decided to pick a random place to eat in Kings Beach. Luckily, we selected one of the best breakfast spots I've had in a long long time. We got here around 1:00 pm and they were still serving breakfast. According to our server, they serve breakfast all day on the weekends. Around that time, the place wasn't too crowded, although I'm sure they get a pretty large breakfast crowd. I ended up ordering a "Denver" scrambled-in (except I got bacon instead of ham) and it was amazing. The scrambled-in is just like an omelette minus the structure. The potatoes they serve were also great. Some of the potatoes were just slightly overcooked so you get that nice crispy crust. My girlfriend's family got other random lunch and breakfast items, but the overall consensus was that everyone really enjoyed their meals. Our bill ended up being around $70 dollars for 6 people so it wasn't that bad. If I ever end up in Tahoe again, I'm definitely stopping by here for breakfast.
